Monster Hunter Wilds WIKI

Gear upgrade plan

Choose one next upgrade and gather the materials that directly support it.

THE GUIDE

What to do and why

Name the bottleneck

Ask whether hunts are failing because of survival, damage, or unfamiliarity with the weapon. Do not replace several armor pieces just because materials are available if the real problem is a move you have not learned to avoid.

Pin one equipment goal

Compare the next weapon or armor upgrade with your current kit and note the needed materials. Hunt the relevant target with that goal in mind, but stop farming when the upgrade no longer solves the issue you set out to fix.

Retest the same target

After upgrading, revisit a familiar monster. If the hunt becomes safer, keep the change. If not, review positioning, supplies, and weapon timing before spending another batch of materials.
