Make boons support the move you actually use instead of collecting unrelated effects.

What to do and why
Identify your main damage loop
Is the current weapon winning with attacks, specials, casts, or an Omega move? Favor boons that strengthen that loop. An attractive effect on a rarely used move will often contribute less than a modest improvement to a reliable action.
Use cast for control
A cast can buy space and shape enemy movement, not just add damage. Place it where it helps you avoid being surrounded, then attack from a position that leaves a route out. Treat the room layout as part of the build.
Leave defensive room
Some combinations need time or resources before they work. If the setup leaves you exposed, take a defensive choice or simplify the rotation. Judge a boon by how many rooms it helps you clear safely, not by one unusually strong hit.
