What to do and why
Define the combat loop
For example, a netrunner creates an opening with quickhacks, while a close-range fighter needs tools for reaching and surviving in the same space as enemies. Choose a main approach before spending attributes across unrelated trees.
Check capacity and survival
Cyberware capacity limits how much you can install, and cyberware has changed substantially across updates. Compare a new implant with the protection or utility it replaces, not just its headline damage effect.
Keep a second answer
A specialist build still needs a response when its preferred range or method is unavailable. Carry a weapon or ability that covers that gap. Test the complete setup in a familiar gig before investing further.
