Baldur's Gate 3 WIKI
First act approach
Treat dialogue, exploration, and the environment as part of progression, not as detours from combat.
THE GUIDE
What to do and why
Explore with the whole party
Bring companions whose skills cover different problems. Look above and below the main path for ledges, doors, containers, and alternate entrances. A difficult fight may have a conversational or positional solution that is easier to spot before initiative begins.
Read the journal after major choices
Quest objectives can change after a conversation or discovery. Check the newest journal entry before leaving a region, speak to nearby characters again, and use the map to identify leads that are close enough to combine in one trip.
Rest as a resource decision
Short and long rests restore different class resources. If the party is conserving every spell slot because it refuses to rest, it may be making fights harder than intended. Check any urgent quest context, then plan a rest before a major encounter.
