Baldur's Gate 3 WIKI
Party and build planning
Give each character a clear job and make their abilities support that job.
THE GUIDE
What to do and why
Cover battlefield roles
A flexible party can hold a front line, reach distant enemies, handle locks or traps, and answer magical threats. These are jobs rather than mandatory classes: a character may cover more than one, and companions can be swapped when a particular obstacle demands it.
Protect the main ability
Pick the class feature or spell you expect to use most often. Improve the ability score and equipment that make it reliable before selecting a feat or item that only works in rare situations. Keep concentration spells on a character who can maintain safe positioning.
Test the full turn
A build is more than its largest damage number. Check how the character spends movement, an action, a bonus action, and a reaction in a typical fight. If two important abilities compete for the same part of the turn, simplify the plan.
