About ZOMBI
ZOMBI drops you into a deserted London where streets and underground canals are overrun by infected survivors. You must scavenge scarce supplies, manage a bug‑out bag, and cope with permanent death that turns each fallen avatar into a new zombie.
The game upgrades the original ZombiU experience for next‑gen consoles and PC, adding refined graphics and an active‑pause system while keeping the survival‑horror focus on resource scarcity and risky retrievals.
01 / THE GUIDE
Permadeath Mechanics
When your survivor dies, the character becomes infected and joins the horde of undead roaming London. This change is permanent; you cannot continue with the same avatar and must begin again with a fresh survivor.
The new survivor’s first objective is to retrieve the supplies left behind by the previous character. This creates a loop where each death forces a decision about risking a bag retrieval or starting a new scavenging run.
- Observe the location of your death to gauge the distance to your previous bag.
- Weigh the value of abandoned supplies against the danger of returning for them.

Bug‑Out Bag
All possessions, tools, inventory, first‑aid kits, maps, and other items are stored in a single bug‑out bag that remains with the dead body. The bag acts as a physical repository for everything you have collected up to the point of death.
Because zombies can attack at any moment, deciding whether to risk returning for the bag or to start fresh becomes a core strategic choice. The bag’s location therefore shapes post‑death planning for each new survivor.
- Prioritize essential items in the bag to make a retrieval worthwhile.
- Leave non‑essential gear behind if the bag’s location appears heavily guarded.

Resource Management
Weapons, ammunition, first aid, and food are described as scarce, meaning you cannot rely on constant resupply. Each use of a resource must be considered carefully, as it directly impacts your ability to survive future encounters.
Since you never know when additional supplies will appear, the game encourages strategic planning over reckless combat. Deciding when to conserve or expend resources becomes a constant calculation that can determine whether you live or die.
- Track your current supply count before entering a new area.
- Conserve ammunition by engaging enemies only when necessary, since you never know when you’ll find more.

London Settings
The game’s environments cover historic and modern London, including the medieval Tower of London, stately Buckingham Palace, and contemporary streets swarming with undead mobs. Each location provides distinct visual storytelling and navigation challenges.
Moving through underground canals, narrow alleys, and grand halls forces you to adapt your movement and awareness to the unique layout of each area, reinforcing the grim atmosphere of a city overrun by disease.
- Use recognizable landmarks to orient yourself when the map offers limited detail.
- Explore vertical routes such as underground canals for alternative escape paths.
05 / THE GUIDE
Active Pause System
An active‑pause system lets you scan the environment, complete mini‑games, or manage inventory while the game remains paused. During this pause you remain vulnerable, and zombies can still attack.
Because pausing does not guarantee safety, you must decide when and where to pause based on visual confirmation that no zombies are nearby. This timing influences how prepared you are for the next encounter.
- Pause only after confirming the immediate area is clear of zombies.
- Plan inventory changes before entering high‑threat zones.
