About Yggdra Union
Yggdra Union, originally released in 2006, has evolved across multiple platforms and now appears on Steam with adjustments tailored to PC play. The story follows Yggdra, a lone girl fleeing the empire that destroyed her kingdom, who joins Milanor, the king of thieves, in a campaign to liberate her homeland. The Steam version adds PC-oriented functions such as rewind, auto-save, and battle-speed control while keeping the core adventure, RPG, and strategy elements. Players can switch between Japanese and English voices, save freely during battles, and choose from multiple sound sets.

Story
The Kingdom of Fantasinia, ruled by a royal family carrying the blood of the gods, enjoyed a stable era until it fell to the Empire of Bronquia. Yggdra escapes alone, carrying her kingdom's last hope, and heads for the remotest land at the southern tip of the continent. There she encounters Milanor, the king of thieves, and from that meeting begins the battle to reclaim Yggdra's homeland. The narrative unfolds through their alliance and the liberation campaign that follows.

Strategic placement of units influences how many companions can join a battle, creating opportunities for combined assaults against overwhelming foes.
- Arrange characters to maximize the number of allies joining a battle.
- Experiment with different positions to discover optimal groupings.

Players use cards with special moves that can turn the tide of battle in a single stroke. Each card carries distinct effects, so choosing the right one at the right moment matters. Skillful use of these varied effects can carry you through difficult encounters, rewarding players who master their timing and pairing with unit positioning.
- Hold powerful cards for moments when a single strike can change the outcome.
- Combine card effects with unit positioning for maximum impact.

Further additions include free saving during battle, unlimited item use in EASY mode, mid-battle equipment removal, an adjusted Itembreak where weapons no longer break and become unusable, and a sound-set selector offering three types of sound sources. Trick Function
A trick function, revealed by pressing a specific button, makes Milanor appear as Cruz, letting him play an active role as a hunter. The same tricks also disable critical hits for both enemies and allies, start the skill gauge at maximum for your own army at the beginning of battle, and reverse the male and female formation types. The manual explains how the trick appears; activating it changes several battle parameters, offering a distinct tactical variant for players who seek it out.
- Consult the manual to learn how the trick function appears.
- Try the trick in a low-risk battle to see its effects.
