About World of Warships

World of Warships is a free‑to‑play naval combat MMO where players command historic warships across large maps. Battles feature a range of vessels—battleships, destroyers, cruisers, submarines and aircraft carriers—each rendered in 3D and customizable with cosmetics. Players can join Divisions for cooperative play or enlist in Clans to compete in league rankings. Progression follows thirteen national tech trees, allowing ship upgrades, commander skills and visual modifications.

Ship Types

The game offers five ship classes: battleships, destroyers, cruisers, submarines and aircraft carriers, each modeled after historic vessels such as the Yamato and U‑190. Every class has distinct combat roles and 3D models.

Players select ships from national tech trees, unlocking new vessels as they advance. The variety supports many playstyles, from heavy firepower to stealthy torpedo attacks.

  • Experiment with different classes to discover which combat role fits your style.
  • Use the smaller, faster ships for scouting and flanking maneuvers.

National Tech Trees

World of Warships features thirteen national tech trees, each representing a country's naval development. Progression through a tree unlocks new ships, commander skills and upgrades.

Tech trees provide a structured path for players to fine‑tune their approach to naval combat, offering a mix of historical and gameplay‑balanced vessels.

  • Focus on a single nation's tree to specialize quickly.
  • Balance ship upgrades with commander skill development for optimal performance.

  • Communicate with Division mates to coordinate attacks.
  • Participate in Clan events to climb the league standings.

Customization & Cosmetics

Ships can be personalized with camouflages and other cosmetic items. Modifications and commander skills also enhance performance, allowing players to tailor ships to their preferred tactics.

Cosmetics do not affect gameplay balance but provide visual variety.

  • Apply camouflages that match the map environment for visual immersion.
  • Upgrade commander skills that complement your ship’s strengths.
