Ship Variety and Customization
The world offers more than fifty sailing ships from the 16th to 19th centuries, including schooners, galleons, brigantines and frigates. Each vessel can be upgraded, refitted and visually altered to match a captain’s preferred style of sailing.
Players start in a humble schooner and can eventually command a 100‑gun first‑rate ship of the line. Customization lets you change gear and appearance, shaping a fleet that fits your chosen tactics.
- Compare the speed of a schooner with the firepower of a frigate before committing to a long voyage.
- Experiment with visual refits to help identify your ships during chaotic battles.

Combat Mechanics
Naval combat relies on timing and ammunition choice. Round shot damages hulls, bar shot tears sails and grapeshot harms crews. Heated shot can set heavily armored ships ablaze.
When cannons are insufficient, captains may close in to board enemy vessels, adding a close‑quarters option to the fight.
- Match shot type to enemy armor: use bar shot against sail‑heavy ships.
- Boarding is most effective after softening the target with cannon fire.

Player‑Driven Economy and Trade
Goods such as tobacco, wine and iron can be hauled between regions, then turned into finished products and sold on the player exchange. Fishing gear lets captains catch fish to feed crews and earn additional profit.
Pirates and merchants alike can be boarded; captured cargo can be sold in ports, providing an alternative to honest trade.
- Diversify cargo to mitigate losses if a convoy is intercepted.
- Use fishing trips to supplement income during slower trading periods.

Guild Warfare and Territory
Guilds can wage war for control of ports across the Archipelago. Coordinated flotillas give members a strategic edge, allowing them to gain the upper hand on the waves.
Territorial battles blend PvP combat with political intrigue, rewarding guilds that successfully manage both naval and economic fronts.
- Synchronize fleet movements with guild allies to overwhelm enemy ports.
- Balance offensive raids with defensive patrols to protect your own holdings.

The Endless Sea
Beyond the mapped Archipelago lies the Endless Sea, an uncharted expanse filled with heightened danger. Its unknown waters encourage exploration and present opportunities for high‑risk, high‑reward encounters.
Captains venturing into this area must monitor wind and weather, as the environment can influence combat outcomes and navigation.
- Prepare extra supplies before crossing into the Endless Sea.
- Observe wind patterns to gain positional advantage during engagements.
