About Will You Snail?

Will You Snail is a fast‑paced platformer where the evil AI Squid predicts your movement a few seconds ahead and spawns traps to stop you. You run, jump, dodge and die, and you can change the difficulty at any time.

The game also offers optional puzzles of varying difficulty and a dark story about simulation theory. A built‑in level editor with Steam Workshop support lets players create and share unlimited community‑made stages.

01 / THE GUIDE

Core Gameplay

The main loop consists of precise platforming: you must run, jump, dodge and survive AI‑generated traps. Levels are often empty, so the AI’s predictions become the primary obstacle rather than static level design.

Deaths are frequent, encouraging you to stay calm and refine timing. Because difficulty can be changed at any moment, you can raise or lower the challenge without restarting the level.

  • Observe the first few traps to learn the AI’s timing window.
  • Practice short jumps in empty sections to improve reaction speed.

02 / THE GUIDE

AI Prediction Mechanic

Squid, the evil AI, looks a few seconds ahead at your intended path and uses that information to place obstacles. This creates an intellectual battle where you must anticipate where the AI expects you to be.

Because the AI bases traps on predicted movement, sudden changes in direction can cause the AI’s placements to miss, giving you brief windows to progress.

  • Introduce a brief pause before major jumps to disrupt the AI’s timing.
  • Vary your speed to make the AI’s predictions less reliable.

Difficulty & Optional Puzzles

Difficulty can be altered at any time, letting you tailor the challenge to your current skill level. This flexibility means you can experiment with harder settings without penalty.

Puzzles range from easy to quite difficult and are completely optional; you may skip them entirely and focus on platforming, or attempt them for additional variety.

  • If a puzzle feels too hard, lower the difficulty and try again.
  • Try a hard puzzle after a successful run to test your mastery.

04 / THE GUIDE

Level Editor & Steam Workshop

Will You Snail includes a level editor that integrates with Steam Workshop, enabling players to design, upload and play community‑made stages. This creates a continual flow of new content beyond the base game.

The editor lets you build your own custom levels, so you can craft challenges in the same spirit as the main game.

  • Start with a simple layout before adding complex trap patterns.
  • Browse the Workshop for inspiration on puzzle and trap design.

05 / THE GUIDE

Story & Secret Hunting

Beyond the platforming, the game presents a dark narrative about artificial intelligence, simulation theory and humanity’s future. Story fragments appear as clues hidden throughout levels.

Secrets and hidden lore are scattered for completionists; finding them adds context to the simulation premise and encourages thorough exploration.

  • Examine background details in each level for subtle clue placement.
  • Take notes on any text fragments you encounter to piece together the story.
