About Wildfrost

In Wildfrost the world is locked in an endless winter, and Snowdwell’s survivors are the last hope. Players build a deck of card companions and elemental items, then battle turn‑based foes whose actions are driven by a counter system.

Each run begins with a tribe Leader that has randomised skills and stats. As you explore, you rescue companions, buy items from travelling merchants, and expand the hub town of Snowdwell, unlocking new cards, tribes, and challenges for future runs.

01 / THE GUIDE

Deck Building

You assemble a deck from a large pool of cute but powerful companion cards, elemental items, and clunker cards. The deck evolves each run as you rescue companions, purchase items, and upgrade favourites with wobbly charms.

The randomised skills and stats of your chosen Leader influence early decisions, while the dynamic counter system lets you plan moves based on when cards become ready to act.

  • Experiment with different elemental combinations to discover synergistic effects.
  • Consider upgrading a few favourite companions rather than spreading upgrades thinly.

02 / THE GUIDE

Counter Mechanics

Wildfrost’s battles are turn‑based, but cards do not attack every turn. Each card has a counter that counts down the turns until it automatically makes its move. Watching enemy counters lets you anticipate attacks.

You can use this timing to buff allies, stall enemies, or time your own powerful moves, turning the tide of combat through strategic planning.

  • Track enemy counters to time defensive actions.
  • Align your own counters to unleash combos when opponents are vulnerable.

03 / THE GUIDE

Town Hub – Snowdwell

Snowdwell serves as a safe shelter where survivors gather around the Luminice, a giant shard of hot ice. After each run you can return to expand the town, adding buildings like a Pet Shop or Inventors Hut.

New structures unlock additional cards, tribes, cosmetics, challenges, and events, giving players fresh options for subsequent journeys.

  • Prioritise building upgrades that unlock new card types.
  • Visit the hub regularly to access fresh challenges and cosmetics.

04 / THE GUIDE

Replayability

Even after defeating the Frost Guardian, Wildfrost offers endless replayability through daily runs and challenges. Each run generates a unique deck based on the routes you choose and the companions you recruit.

Scoring systems let you test skills and improve performance over time, encouraging continual experimentation with deck composition and strategies.

  • Use daily challenges to practice specific deck archetypes.
  • Compare scores across runs to identify effective strategies.
