About WARCANA
WARCANA blends real‑time base defence with a deck‑building system, casting you as a magician who summons armies and casts spells. Every card follows its own tech tree, unlocking buildings, units, or magical effects as you expand your economy.
The game offers a single‑player campaign of 30+ scenarios, a Battle Royale for up to 30 players, a Horde kill‑race, and a Stream Sniper social mode. Selecting primary and secondary devotions creates multicoloured decks with distinct perks and themes.
01 / THE GUIDE
Deck Building & Tech Trees
Each card carries a tech tree that determines whether it summons a building, a unit, or casts a spell. New cards become available when you summon economy buildings, so your card choices directly affect future options.
Choosing a tech route matters because a poor selection can leave you vulnerable when the round timer expires. Pairing devotions lets you blend colours, expanding the pool of cards you can draw.
- Test several tech paths early to see which unit types complement your summons.
- Mix spell and unit cards to keep a balanced defence as the timer counts down.
02 / THE GUIDE
Battle Royale Multiplayer
Up to 30 players compete in a last‑man‑standing match, with each participant facing two direct opponents at any moment. You must defend your base while also attacking rivals.
Success depends on timely defence, effective deck construction, and anticipating opponent strategies. The round timer adds pressure, forcing you to balance offence and defence.
- Observe opponent deck choices and adjust your summons accordingly.
- Prioritise defensive cards early to survive the initial wave of attacks.

03 / THE GUIDE
Single‑Player Campaign
The campaign presents more than 30 scenarios designed to teach core mechanics and the differences between devotions. It serves as a practice ground for mastering deck construction and base defence.
Each scenario introduces new challenges, letting you refine tech‑tree choices and see how various unit types interact with enemy forces.
- Use early scenarios to test each devotion’s unique perk.
- Replay a scenario with a different deck to discover alternative strategies.

Devotions & Faction Perks
Players select a devotion such as Fay Caller, Occultism, or other cosmic horrors, each granting a distinct perk, gameplay mechanic, and visual theme. These choices shape the cards available in your deck.
Combining a primary and a secondary devotion creates a multicoloured deck, expanding the card pool and allowing hybrid strategies that blend different faction strengths.
- Pair devotions whose perks complement each other for smoother synergy.
- Consider the unit types each devotion emphasises when planning your tech tree.

WARCANA includes an editor that lets players design their own battle maps and challenges, extending replayability beyond the built‑in campaign. Created content can be shared via Steam Workshop.
The editor lets you build custom scenarios, giving you a controlled setting to test novel deck configurations.
- Start with a simple layout before adding complex hazards.
- Share your creations on Steam Workshop to see how others tackle your designs.
