About Walkabout Mini Golf VR
Walkabout Mini Golf VR brings the classic mini‑golf experience into virtual reality with realistic ball physics and a variety of oversized, fantasy‑themed courses. Players use tracked controllers to putt naturally, while the game’s physics keep the ball’s behavior true to the real sport.
The title launches with fourteen 18‑hole courses, a Hard Mode that remodels every hole, and cross‑platform multiplayer for up to eight players in private rooms. Additional DLC courses, over 250 hidden golf balls, and extensive avatar customization add depth without changing core gameplay.

Courses
Each 18‑hole course is designed to feel like classic mini‑golf but set in a larger‑than‑life fantasy location. The holes are interconnected, encouraging players to move through the whole layout, retrieve lost balls, and experiment with trick shots using the environment.
Fourteen distinct courses are available at launch, and extra DLC courses can be purchased. All courses share the same realistic physics, so the ball behaves consistently whether the setting is forest, space, or any other theme.

Hard Mode
Hard Mode modifies every hole, sometimes redesigning them entirely, creating a fresh challenge after mastering the standard layout. New obstacles and a different visual theme appear, making each round feel like a new course.
Within Hard Mode, a Foxhunt leads players to a specialized putter for the course, adding a collectible goal alongside the tougher puzzles presented by the redesigned holes.
- Treat Hard Mode as a separate puzzle; previous strategies may need adjustment.
- Use the Foxhunt as a chance to practice the new putter before tackling the harder holes.

Multiplayer
Cross‑play allows up to eight players to join a private room regardless of the VR platform they are using. Players can host rooms by sharing a room name, or join community tournaments announced on Discord.
Game modes include solo play, a 1v1 online Quick Match, and private rooms for larger groups, offering both competitive and casual social experiences.
- Coordinate a room name with friends ahead of time to ensure a smooth private match.
- Agree on basic etiquette, such as turn order, to keep games flowing smoothly.

Physics & Locomotion
The game features extremely accurate physics that mimic real‑world ball behavior, making putting feel natural and predictable across all courses and modes.
Players can choose Teleport, Smooth locomotion, or the ability to fly, allowing different comfort levels while still preserving precise ball dynamics.
- Experiment with both Teleport and Smooth locomotion to find the most comfortable way to line up shots.
- Flying can help you view the entire hole layout before committing to a putt.

Collectibles & Customization
Over 250 collectible golf balls are hidden throughout the courses, with additional balls in DLC maps. Completing Foxhunts on Hard Mode unlocks commemorative putters for each course.
Avatars are highly customizable, offering a vast number of visual combinations, and a Guest Pass lets players who own DLC courses share them with others for free.
