About Vampire: The Masquerade — Night Road

Vampire: The Masquerade — Night Road puts you in the role of an elite vampire courier racing across the American Southwest. You must deliver secrets before sunrise while evading hunters, rival drivers, and the ever‑present threat of the Beast.

The game is a 650,000‑word interactive horror novel with text‑only presentation. Choices drive the story, and you can play any gender or sexual orientation, join or reject the Camarilla, and use vampiric Disciplines and car upgrades to survive the night.

01 / THE GUIDE

Story Premise

The elders task you with delivering vital information across desert roads after the Second Inquisition exposed vampires worldwide. Ten years of courier work have made you a seasoned driver, but a resurfacing friend threatens the blood trade in the Southwest.

Your mission is to outrun hunters, rival couriers, and the rising sun. Failure means death or the loss of the Masquerade, which other vampires will punish.

  • Consider the timing of each choice; sunrise is a hard deadline.
  • Weigh the consequences of exposing the Masquerade against immediate survival.

02 / THE GUIDE

Vampiric Disciplines

You can unleash ancient Disciplines to change form, vanish, or dominate minds. These powers let you alter encounters, hide, or force enemies off the road.

Disciplines are described as blood‑based magic, inhuman strength, and other night‑creature abilities that can be used to escape destruction or eliminate threats.

  • Use vanishing to avoid direct confrontations when facing destruction.
  • Mind domination can let you take control of hostile drivers.

03 / THE GUIDE

Car Modifications

Your vehicle can be modified for speed, durability, or smuggling capacity. These upgrades affect how quickly you can travel and how much you can carry on each run.

Remember that regardless of upgrades, you must reach your destination before dawn.

  • Prioritize speed upgrades if you frequently chase deadlines.
  • Durability upgrades help survive hostile road encounters.

04 / THE GUIDE

Faction Choices

You may join the Camarilla, the elite vampire society, or reject its control over the border states. Each path influences how other vampires react to you.

Breaking the Masquerade can lead to other vampires destroying you, while staying hidden may keep you alive longer.

  • Aligning with the Camarilla may provide allies in later scenes.
  • Going rogue can open alternative story routes but increases risk.

05 / THE GUIDE

Usurpers and Outcasts DLC

The Usurpers and Outcasts DLC adds the ability to play as Tremere or Caitiff, expanding character options beyond the base game.

These bloodlines expand your play options within the same courier story.

  • Experiment with Tremere for a different Discipline focus.
  • Caitiff may offer a more flexible role in faction interactions.
