About Unexplored
Unexplored is a real‑time roguelite dungeon crawler that blends classic roguelike ideas with action‑RPG combat. Each run generates a fresh, intricate map filled with enemies, traps, puzzles and over fifty distinct bosses, all steering the player toward the dragon and the Amulet of Yendor.
The game features dual‑wield melee, stealth options, pause‑menu inventory management and a crafting system. Permanent death removes temporary gains, while experience, achievement‑unlocked gear and inherited gold provide a modest, lasting foothold for future attempts.
01 / THE GUIDE
Procedural Dungeon Generation
Every descent creates a new labyrinth using Unexplored’s proprietary generation tech. Hints, keys and notes are scattered throughout, giving players early clues about later challenges while ensuring each floor feels fresh and unpredictable.
The generated environments include lava, water, flammable trees, hidden doors and lock‑picks, encouraging careful route planning and exploration of environmental hazards that can be leveraged or avoided.
- Collect notes and keys early; they often foreshadow puzzles or locked areas ahead.
- Watch for flammable trees—they can be used strategically against enemies.

Real‑Time Dual‑Wield Combat
Combat unfolds in real time, allowing you to equip two items simultaneously—swords, daggers, whips, torches or shields. Weapon choice and positioning directly affect each encounter, creating tactical depth beyond simple button‑mashing.
Stealth mechanics let you move unseen or launch surprise attacks for extra damage, adding another layer of decision‑making that can turn a difficult fight in your favor.
- Pair a ranged dagger with a melee weapon to handle both distance and close combat.
- Use stealth to bypass groups of weak enemies and preserve health for tougher bosses.

Integrated Puzzle Design
Statues and other environmental objects serve as puzzles reminiscent of classic Zelda titles. Solving them can unlock doors, reveal treasure, or provide hints for deeper levels, rewarding careful observation.
Books scattered throughout the dungeons often contain clues to these puzzles. Reading them can give you the insight needed to tackle a puzzle several floors later.
- Collect and read every book you find; they frequently contain puzzle solutions.
- Test interactions with statues before moving on, as they may hide essential keys.

Progression and Permadeath
Experience is the main form of progression, helping you reach deeper levels with each run, while potions can temporarily boost strength or fully heal you. When you die, all temporary powers and items are lost, reinforcing the perma‑death loop.
Achievements unlock equipment that can be purchased before a new run, and gold earned is inherited by the next character, giving a modest permanent advantage across attempts.
- Focus on unlocking achievements early to gain access to permanent gear.
- Gather as much gold as possible; it carries over automatically to the next run.

Crafting and Item Upgrades
Collected weapons and armor can be combined with magic items on an anvil, granting temporary perks that may tip the balance in a tough encounter. Mixing potions creates stronger or more hazardous drinks for strategic use.
These upgrades last only for the current run, encouraging players to experiment with different combinations before facing a boss or a challenging puzzle.
- Combine weapons with magical items before a boss to gain situational advantages.
- Experiment with potion mixes to discover effects that suit your play style.
