About Tropico 6
Tropico 6 puts you back in the shoes of El Presidente, guiding a banana republic through four distinct eras while juggling citizen needs, economic growth, and international politics. The game blends city‑building with political simulation and offers both single‑player and online multiplayer for up to four players.
For the first time the series lets you manage large archipelagos, build bridges and tunnels, and use new transport options such as taxis, buses and aerial cable cars. You can also send agents on raids to steal world wonders, customize your palace, and deliver election speeches from its balcony.
01 / THE GUIDE
Archipelago Management
The game introduces extensive archipelagos, allowing you to control multiple islands at once. Each island can host its own buildings and industries, so you must keep an eye on population, production and happiness across the whole chain.
Bridges and tunnels can be constructed to link islands, creating a unified transport network that lets citizens, tourists and goods move between landmasses. Connecting islands early can simplify resource distribution and improve overall stability.
- Plan bridge routes before placing major buildings.
- Regularly check each island’s population and happiness levels.

Transport Infrastructure
Tropico 6 adds several transport options, including taxis, buses, aerial cable cars, bridges and tunnels. These elements can be placed to move citizens, tourists and goods between residential, industrial and tourist zones.
The new infrastructure pieces can be combined in many ways, letting you design routes that suit the terrain and the needs of each island. Using a mix of transport types helps keep traffic flowing smoothly.
- Use aerial cable cars for high‑altitude connections.
- Combine buses with bridges to speed up commuter routes.

World Wonder Raids
Agents can be sent on raids to foreign lands to steal iconic monuments such as the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower. Successful raids return the captured wonders to your capital for display.
Stolen wonders become part of a collection that you can place in your city, adding a visual showcase of your diplomatic reach and adding variety to the island’s skyline.
- Schedule raids after you have built a sufficient number of agents.
- Place captured wonders in prominent public spaces for maximum visual impact.

Palace Customization
The presidential palace can be fully customized, offering a range of extras and decorative items that change its appearance. Customization lets you tailor the palace to the current era or personal aesthetic.
A personalized palace also serves as the stage for election speeches, allowing you to address the populace from a balcony that reflects your chosen style.
- Choose extras that match the era you are playing.
- Use the balcony view as a backdrop for speeches.

Election Speeches & Political System
Election speeches return as a core feature, letting you address citizens and make promises from the palace balcony. These speeches can influence voter sentiment during elections.
The research system has been revised to focus on political aspects of rule, giving you new options to explore when shaping policy and campaign promises.
- Consider recent political research when crafting promises.
- Deliver speeches after visible projects are completed to reinforce credibility.
