About Trials of Innocence
Trials of Innocence is an indie courtroom detective game developed by 猫龙游戏. It is a remake of a 2015 Chinese mobile title and offers a fully localized experience crafted by a Chinese team. Players enter a modern fictional courtroom to defend clients, investigate murders, and uncover hidden truths.
The game features two attorneys—rookie Luna Ray and veteran Charlie Drake—over 100 unique dialogues triggered by a lawyer's license, a script exceeding 500,000 words, and an anime‑inspired visual style with frame‑by‑frame animation. Voice work is provided in Chinese, Japanese, and English, and the soundtrack includes nearly 50 remixed tracks.

Case Locations
Each trial unfolds in a distinct venue such as a Chinese‑style haunted house, a serene mountain village, a high‑tech research center, a mine park, a world games venue, or a skyscraper. The setting frames the murder mystery and supplies location‑specific clues.
Because the environments differ, testimonies and evidence often reference unique details tied to the venue, encouraging players to note each location’s atmosphere and objects for later use.
- Record objects mentioned in each venue; they frequently become evidence later.
- Notice the mood of a location to anticipate the type of testimony you may receive.

- Comparing dialogue between the two lawyers may clarify ambiguous clues.

Special Gameplay Modes
Beyond standard trials, the game includes three special modes: Brainstorm, Confrontation, and Mind Link. Brainstorm reviews all known facts, Confrontation pits you directly against the prosecutor, and Mind Link connects case keywords.
These modes give alternative ways to approach dead ends, letting players test theories, expose contradictions, or piece together the truth from different angles.
- Use Brainstorm when clues feel scattered; it surfaces overlooked connections.
- During Confrontation, focus on contradictions in the prosecutor’s statements.

Art Style and Animation
The visual presentation uses an anime‑inspired art style that expands on the original mobile artwork. Characters are animated frame‑by‑frame rather than with keyframes, giving movements a fluid, expressive quality.
This animation approach enhances courtroom scenes, making emotional moments and character reactions feel more vivid while staying true to the original aesthetic.
- Watch character gestures during testimony; subtle motions can hint at hidden emotions.
- Appreciate the frame‑by‑frame detail, as it often emphasizes key narrative beats.

The soundtrack and voice performances reinforce the investigative atmosphere, adding depth to each character’s personality and motivations.
- Voice acting is available in Chinese, Japanese, and English, so listening closely can help you catch nuanced dialogue.
