About Transport Fever
Transport Fever is a railroad‑focused tycoon simulation that begins in 1850. Players build stations, airports, harbors and road networks to link areas that need passenger or freight services, earning money as the transport empire expands.
The title offers an endless sandbox and two historical campaigns—American and European—spanning more than 150 years of transport history. Cities grow dynamically, economies react to cargo flows, and vehicles age realistically.

Game Modes
Transport Fever provides two distinct modes: an endless sandbox where players can build without preset objectives, and a campaign mode that presents a series of missions with increasing difficulty.
Both campaigns are set in historical American and European contexts, delivering real‑world transportation challenges from the 19th and 20th centuries.
- Begin with the sandbox to test network layouts before tackling campaign missions.
- Use early campaign missions to familiarize yourself with vehicle types and terrain handling.

Vehicle Variety
The game includes over 120 detailed vehicles, covering trains, aircraft, ships, buses, trams and trucks. Each vehicle reflects its era and can be upgraded as the network grows.
Vehicle simulation covers realistic coloring, aging and physics, providing visual depth and functional differences between older and newer models.
- Upgrade stations when you plan to use larger or newer vehicles.
- Combine different vehicle types to balance passenger and freight demand.

Construction Tools
Railroad and street construction is described as intuitive yet powerful, allowing players to create complex road‑rail‑water‑air networks and to upgrade stations, airports and harbors for higher capacity.
Terrains are randomly generated and modifiable, offering realistic dimensions that challenge planning and enable custom adjustments.
- Design multi‑modal hubs early to reduce later redesign work.
- Smooth steep gradients with terrain editing to improve train performance.

Dynamic Simulation
Cities evolve dynamically, with passenger movement and urban development responding to the transport links you create. A sophisticated economy model tracks freight and passenger revenue.
The simulation reflects more than 150 years of transportation history, influencing vehicle availability and city growth patterns over time.
- Watch cargo chains for bottlenecks that limit city expansion.
- Place new routes near emerging industrial zones for higher profit.

Modding Support
Transport Fever integrates Steam Workshop and extensive modding tools, letting players add or modify vehicles, maps and gameplay tweaks created by the community.
Modding extends the game's lifespan by introducing fresh challenges and scenarios beyond the base content.
- Browse the Workshop for maps that match your preferred terrain style.
- Test community vehicles in sandbox mode before using them in campaigns.
