About Transformice
Transformice is a free‑to‑play MMO mouse simulator where dozens of players race to retrieve cheese within two minutes. Each round a player becomes the Shaman, using abilities to aid or hinder the other mice as they navigate chaotic, physics‑driven maps. The game offers seven official modes, over 200 official maps, and millions of community‑created levels, ensuring that no two matches feel the same. Players unlock cosmetic hats and Shaman skill upgrades by successfully bringing cheese back, while the level editor and Lua modules let the community expand the experience further.
01 / THE GUIDE
Gameplay Basics
You control a small mouse whose goal is to reach the cheese and bring it back to the starting point before time runs out. Success depends on navigating obstacles, avoiding pitfalls, and sometimes cooperating with the Shaman’s constructions.
Each round lasts less than two minutes, and the first mouse to return the cheese wins the round. The outcome can change dramatically due to the Shaman’s actions or unpredictable physics.
- Watch the Shaman’s placements early to anticipate safe routes.
- Practice quick jumps to avoid sudden traps.

Shaman Role
One player becomes the Shaman each round, gaining access to skill trees that let them build contraptions, summon objects, or cast curses. Their choices directly affect how easily the other mice can reach the cheese.
Saving more mice accelerates Shaman skill progression, allowing more elaborate creations in future rounds.
- Use simple platforms first to help multiple mice.
- Avoid over‑complicating builds that could trap players.

Content Unlock System
Bringing cheese back adds to your in‑game wallet, which unlocks new maps, Shaman abilities, and cosmetic hats. All purchasable items are purely cosmetic and can also be earned through gameplay.
Some “master achievement” hats require especially difficult cheese‑return feats, encouraging skilled play.
- Focus on consistent cheese returns to build your wallet faster.
- Target achievement maps for the rarest hats.
