Core Gameplay & Choices
Random events give you options such as staying in bed or following a senior Death for extra souls. Each decision influences the story and can lead to scenarios like getting lost in a forest, falling into the Death Tower, or turning into a monster in the Dreamworld.
Because the game lets you start over at any moment, you can freely test any choice without permanent consequence, allowing you to explore the full range of outcomes the random events provide.
- Contrast opposite decisions in similar events to see how each affects the narrative.
- Note how repeated choices alter the tone of later scenarios.

Attributes System
Four attributes—Faith, Energy, Strength, and Evil—are modified by every decision you make. Changes to these values determine how events unfold, such as whether you survive a void fall or become a monster in the Dreamworld.
Completing objectives within events can raise or lower specific attributes, so your actions can shape how later events unfold.
- After each event, check which attribute changed to anticipate upcoming challenges.
- Try to keep a balance among opposing attributes to retain flexibility.

Outfits & Customization
Finishing objectives in random events rewards new outfits, which you can freely customize. The game notes that even a Death needs to dress well, adding a visual layer to progression.
Outfit collection adds a visual layer to progression, letting you showcase the styles you have gathered across your playthroughs.
- Gather outfits from a variety of events to display the breadth of your playthroughs.
- Experiment with different visual combinations in the customization screen.

Divine Artifacts & Oracles
Celestial Gods may grant Oracles when you gaze at the stars. Oracles have assorted effects, ranging from reviving you after death to worsening your situation, reflecting the unpredictable nature of divine intervention.
There is no guarantee an Oracle will be beneficial; they can act as modifiers that shift how a situation unfolds.
- Treat Oracles as experimental tools rather than reliable power‑ups.
- Record which Oracles tend to improve survivability for future reference.

Setting & Lore
Hundreds of years ago the "Lord of Night" vanished from the Death Tower, leaving the Deaths unable to maintain the balance between Dreams and Reality. A prophecy then called for many Trainee Deaths to serve as expendables, turning the tide of the conflict.
The narrative frames each trainee’s personal debt repayment as part of this larger cosmic struggle, giving context to the random events and the relentless cycle of dying and restarting.
- Read event descriptions for hints about the larger historical backdrop.
- Consider how the lore influences the tone of each random scenario.
