01 / THE GUIDE
Roguelite Sidescrolling Dungeon Crawl
At the start of each run the map is randomly generated, creating a fresh layout of platforms, enemies, and item locations. Players must clear the levels quickly, battling youkai and magical creatures while gathering upgrades that shape their build.
The run concludes with a powerful boss that challenges the player to apply the items and skills collected. The design encourages replayability, with each hour‑long attempt offering new combinations of gear and routes.
- Explore multiple paths early to discover varied item placements.
- Observe how enemy placements shift with each new map.

Four Emotion Combat System
Kokoro can freely swap between Joy, Anger, Sorrow, and Happiness during combat. Each emotion changes her attributes and abilities: Joy emphasizes magic and mana, Anger boosts close‑combat damage, Sorrow provides a shield, and Happiness grants armor‑piercing power.
A hidden "null" emotion removes all emotion‑based buffs, offering an extra challenge for players who prefer a stricter test of skill.
- Switch to Joy when you need sustained magical attacks.
- Use Sorrow’s shield to survive heavy hits before unleashing its abilities.

Item Set Effects
Items appear with random attributes and are linked to one of the four emotions. Collecting 3, 6, or 10 items of the same emotion activates a set effect that powers up the character across all stats, regardless of the current emotion.
When enough matching items are gathered, an item counter glows, giving clear visual feedback that the set bonus has been triggered.
- Focus on gathering items of a single emotion early to unlock set bonuses quickly.
- Balance set collection with diverse skills to avoid over‑reliance on one playstyle.

Playable Bosses
Defeated bosses can become playable characters once specific conditions are met. These characters use the same item system but bring unique movesets and skill pools, providing a fresh experience after completing the main storyline.
Mokou is cited as an example of a boss that becomes playable, offering a completely different moveset for players who unlock her.
- Unlock a boss to experience familiar items with new abilities.
- Compare a boss’s moveset to Kokoro’s to discover new combo possibilities.
