About Time Wasters

Time Wasters drops you into a fast‑paced space arena where mysterious Time & Space Cubes shape each run. Time Cubes let you alter the Timeline, letting you reroll choices or compress time to instantly secure multiple upgrades in the Time Cube Shop.

Space Cubes give you a head start by beginning runs with already developed Outposts and upgraded Captains. Captains provide upgradable primary weapons that can become Super Weapons and unlock support upgrades, while Gold collected unlocks upgrades immediately.

01 / THE GUIDE

Time Cubes

Time Cubes are artifacts that let you change the Timeline. Using one lets you reroll possible choices, presenting a fresh set of options for the current run.

The same cubes also let you compress time, which instantly achieves multiple upgrades in the Time Cube Shop, speeding up progression during a single session.

  • Try a Time Cube when you encounter a difficult decision to explore alternative upgrade paths.
  • Compress time before a wave if you need several upgrades ready at once.

02 / THE GUIDE

Space Cubes

Space Cubes alter space itself, allowing you to start a run with Outposts already developed and Captains already upgraded, which changes early‑game dynamics.

Collecting Space Cubes contributes to meta‑progression across runs.

  • Gather Space Cubes early to maximize the benefit of pre‑built Outposts in later runs.
  • Use the initial upgrades from Space Cubes to focus on weapon power rather than defensive structures.

03 / THE GUIDE

Captains

Each Captain specializes in upgradable primary weapons that can be transformed into Super Weapons, adding a layered approach to combat strength.

Captains also unlock support upgrades that enhance ship performance, and you can choose to auto‑fire or manually aim all weapons.

  • Experiment with different Captains to find a weapon upgrade path that matches your rhythm.
  • Activate support upgrades early to improve survivability during the first enemy waves.

04 / THE GUIDE

Outposts

Outposts are structures you can unlock, establish, and protect. They provide bonuses during a run.

Protecting Outposts keeps their bonuses active during the run, complementing the meta‑progression gained by collecting Space Cubes.

  • Prioritize protecting Outposts during elite waves to keep their bonuses active.
  • Leverage Outpost bonuses alongside your weapon upgrades rather than focusing on ship speed.

05 / THE GUIDE

Core Gameplay Loop

The game features fast‑paced ship movement with boost upgrades, and weapons that can auto‑fire or be manually aimed, creating a rapid combat rhythm.

Gold collected during runs unlocks upgrades immediately, while waves of enemies appear every ten seconds, encouraging quick decision‑making and upgrade management.

  • Use boost upgrades to close distances quickly when enemy waves spawn.
  • Collect Gold consistently to keep upgrade options open throughout each wave.
