About Tidy or Treat

Tidy or Treat is a co‑op organizing game where players restore a Halloween shop before October 31st. Scattered items must be collected and placed back on shelves, gradually revealing the floor. The game supports solo play or up to four players sharing the cleaning task.

Runs are randomized, and Trick Cards can be used to speed up tidying. Four modes change the experience: Casual (no clock), Timed (race against time), Witching Hour (all magical abilities unlocked), and No Tricks (no abilities, just manual effort).

01 / THE GUIDE

Game Modes

Four distinct modes shape each session. Casual lets players clean without a timer, while Timed adds a race element. Witching Hour starts with every magical ability available, and No Tricks removes all abilities for pure manual cleaning.

Each mode changes the pressure and tools available, but all share the core task of returning items to their shelves.

  • Try Casual first to learn item placement before attempting Timed.
  • Experiment with Witching Hour to see how abilities affect speed.

Multiplayer Co‑op

Up to four players can join a shift, dividing the floor among themselves. The game supports online co‑op, allowing friends to collaborate remotely.

Solo play is also supported, offering the same experience without teammates.

  • Coordinate with friends to cover different shelf areas.
  • Use voice chat to plan routes and avoid overlap.

Trick Cards

Trick Cards are optional tools that can be used to tidy the shop faster. They are earned by tidying and become more effective as you improve.

Cards allow actions like calling all items of one type to your hands or sending an armful directly to its shelf.

  • Save powerful cards for dense areas of items.
  • Try Trick Cards in Witching Hour, where every magical ability is unlocked from the beginning.

Controller Support

The game offers full controller support, including DualShock and DualSense compatibility. Players can use controllers for both solo and co‑op sessions.

Camera comfort and custom volume controls are also provided, enhancing accessibility.

  • Adjust camera settings for a clearer view of the shelves.
  • Use custom volume controls to balance game sounds with communication.

Tidy or Treat integrates with Steam achievements, cloud saves, and family sharing. Progress can be saved to the cloud, and achievements track cleaning milestones.

Family sharing lets multiple accounts access the game on the same device.

  • Check the achievement list for cleaning goals.
  • Enable cloud sync to keep progress across devices.
