About Thronefall

Thronefall is a minimalist strategy title where you construct a modest kingdom by day and defend it by night. You manage economy, build walls, recruit troops, and personally fight waves of enemies. The game offers ten distinct maps with varied terrain and weather, plus a range of weapons, perks, and mutators for replayability. It supports single‑player, achievements, controller input, cloud saves, leaderboards, and family sharing on Windows and macOS.

01 / THE GUIDE

Daytime Building

During daylight you expand your kingdom using structures such as houses, bridges, gold mines, harbors, mills, and fields. Each building generates gold each morning, provided it survives the night. Economic growth is essential for funding defenses and upgrades.

Research facilities like the Castle Center, Blacksmith, and Royal Forge let you improve existing structures. You can also add walls, barricades, shrines, and towers to strengthen your fortifications before nightfall.

  • Prioritize buildings that produce gold early, as they fund later defenses.
  • Upgrade walls before adding expensive towers to maximize survivability.

02 / THE GUIDE

Nighttime Defense

When night arrives, enemy waves begin, ranging from wooden Barrel Knights to Ogres and Catapults. The sun only rises after all foes are defeated, so you must hold the line until dawn.

If the Castle Center is destroyed, the game ends. As the Warrior King you can join the battle directly, using any unlocked weapon to help your troops.

  • Keep the Castle Center protected with surrounding towers.
  • Use your personal combat skill to buy time for weaker units.

03 / THE GUIDE

Units and Heroes

Your army includes Knights, Berserks, Crossbowmen, Fire Archers, and special heroes such as Golems and Mages. These units are trained in Barracks, Archery Ranges, and the Hero's Quarters.

Heroes provide unique abilities that can turn the tide of battle, complementing the regular troops you field.

  • Mix ranged and melee units to cover different enemy types.
  • Deploy heroes where they can protect high‑value structures.

04 / THE GUIDE

Weapons, Perks, and Mutators

As the Warrior King you can equip one of nine unlockable weapons, from a Battleaxe to a Blood Wand, each carried into combat. Additionally, you may select up to five perks that grant specific advantages.

Optional mutators let you increase difficulty, offering a way to tailor the challenge to your skill level.

  • Choose a weapon that matches your preferred combat style.
  • Combine perks that boost both economy and defense for balanced play.

Platform and Features

Thronefall runs on Windows and macOS, offering full controller support, Steam Cloud saves, and leaderboards. Single‑player mode is the sole experience, with achievements and family sharing available through Steam.

The game’s design encourages quick sessions or longer “fortification marathons,” making it adaptable to various play schedules.

  • Enable cloud saves to keep progress across multiple devices.
  • Try controller input for a more hands‑on combat feel.
