About Three Kingdoms : Alias
Three Kingdoms : Alias is a turn‑based strategy simulation set in the Three Kingdoms era. Players manage personnel, warfare, governance, diplomacy, espionage and duels, but officer identities are hidden behind aliases, requiring investigation to reveal true stats and loyalty. Each playthrough begins in a random city with a random officer draft, creating a roguelike experience where the starting conditions and neighboring powers vary each run.
01 / THE GUIDE
Officer Aliases
Officers are presented under false names, called “aliases”. Their true identities, stats, and loyalty are concealed until the player investigates them. This mechanic forces deduction rather than relying on known historical figures.
The alias system adds uncertainty to recruitment and deployment, as a seemingly powerful officer may turn out to be a less useful figure once revealed.
- Track patterns in officer behavior to guess their real identity faster.
- Prioritize investigation of officers placed in critical roles.

Blind Talent Market
Recruitment occurs through a blind talent market where players pay visits to hire officers without knowing who they are. The market emphasizes risk and reward, as each visit may bring a genius or an unexpected figure.
Examples include paying three visits to recruit a genius only to discover it was Xiahou Mao, highlighting the hidden nature of talent.
- Consider the cost of multiple visits versus the potential benefit of a high‑skill officer.
- Balance blind hires with known officers to maintain stability.

Roguelike Runs
Each game starts in a random city with a random draft of officers, creating a distinct run each time. The capital, neighboring powers, and officer composition differ, ensuring no two sessions are alike.
One run might feature Zhang Liao without any civil officers, while another could place Ma Chao under Cao Cao’s command, illustrating the variability.
- Adapt strategies to the specific officers you receive in each run.
- Use early scouting to understand the political landscape of the random capital.
