About This is a Ghost
This indie action title pushes ghost hunting forward by blending paranormal investigation with strategic banishment. Players explore 12 haunted maps, identify one of 23 entity types, gather eight evidence kinds, and learn the spirit’s behavior—vengeful, residual, or lost. The contract system requires both banishment and thorough investigation, rewarding careful equipment choices and photo documentation.
Co‑op supports up to four hunters, while three difficulty levels and an optional challenge let groups tailor tension. Whether solo or with teammates, each hunt demands a balance of detection, evidence collection, and the right ammunition to complete the contract.
01 / THE GUIDE
Entity Identification
Each haunting hides one of 23 possible entities, each with a unique ability such as possession, immobilisation, or life‑drain. Determining the type is essential for selecting the correct banishment ammunition and for anticipating the entity’s actions during the encounter.
Behaviours fall into three categories—vengeful, residual, or lost—guiding how aggressively the entity reacts. Knowing both type and behaviour narrows the 69 banishment options and informs the choice of additives for ammunition.
- Compare observed abilities with the listed entity traits before committing to a banishment tool.
- Note whether the spirit shows aggression or passivity; this often hints at its behavioural class.

Evidence Gathering
Players must collect eight distinct evidence types to confirm a haunting. Tools like the EMF radar (range up to 50 m), night vision, and a paranormal filter help reveal hidden activity and confirm the presence of a spirit.
Additional devices—L.S.S., motion sensor, and Bobby—provide situational clues, allowing hunters to piece together the ghost’s profile before banishment and to verify the entity’s behaviour.
- Use the EMF radar early to map activity zones, then position other sensors for overlapping coverage.
- Switch between night vision and the paranormal filter to catch fleeting phenomena.

Equipment & Tools
The game offers 16 professional tools, ranging from detection gear to offensive items like the Shield Incense Pistol, Shotgun, and Burning Flash Rune. Crafting the right ammunition is required for successful banishment of the identified entity.
Additives can reduce an entity’s speed, strength, or overall activity, letting hunters tailor their approach to each spirit’s weaknesses and improve the effectiveness of their banishment attempt.
- Experiment with different additives to see which most effectively slows a specific entity.
- Balance defensive tools (shield incense) with offensive firepower for versatile encounters.

Co‑op Play
Up to four players can join a hunt, each operating independently but contributing to the shared contract goals. Solo and co‑op modes both support the three difficulty tiers and the optional challenge, allowing groups to experience the same content together.
In co‑op, players can divide responsibilities such as detection, evidence collection, photography, and banishment preparation, creating a strategic layer that relies on coordination without assuming equipment sharing.
- Assign a dedicated sensor operator to keep track of real‑time activity maps.
- Coordinate banishment timing so all players can apply additives simultaneously.

Photo Collection & Economy
Investigators can capture up to 12 photos per game, drawing from a pool of 75 unique images. Photo value depends on rarity, distance, and links to specific entities, behaviours, or maps, encouraging careful composition.
Deleting lower‑value shots frees space for better captures; a well‑curated album can pay big money, and the reputation merchant offers the chance to buy new entities, while contract content and difficulty are gradually unlocked.
- Prioritise close‑up shots of rare entities to maximise photo value.
- Review your album after each hunt and delete redundant images before the next session.
