About The Time Machine
The Time Machine is a VR‑only adventure where you sit inside a compact 2 × 3 m chamber that functions as a temporal conduit. Pulling a lever transports you to a random point in history, indicated by an on‑screen date and opening doors that reveal the new setting.
You cannot exit the machine itself, though you may stick your head out to glimpse the surroundings. If the destination feels unsatisfactory, another lever pull sends you elsewhere. The experience supports both teleport and smooth locomotion and is best enjoyed with room‑scale movement.

Random Time Travel
Each lever pull sends you to an unpredictable era, with a date displayed to inform you of the period you have arrived in. The doors open to reveal the environment, which can range from mundane to historically significant. The system offers no way to select or predict the destination, encouraging repeated attempts until a preferred setting appears.
- Observe the displayed date before deciding to pull again; it may help you gauge the era’s interest.
- Consider noting which dates you enjoy most for future reference.

Room Layout & Movement
The game takes place within a single 2 × 3 m virtual room that represents the time‑machine interior. Players can navigate this space using either teleportation or smooth locomotion, allowing seated or standing play. Room‑scale movement is recommended for the fullest experience, but the locomotion options let you stay seated if preferred.
- If you have limited play space, enable teleport to avoid accidental collisions.
- Try smooth locomotion for a more continuous sense of presence.

Lever Interaction
A central lever serves as the sole method of initiating travel. Pulling it triggers the random time jump and updates the displayed date. The lever can be used repeatedly to change locations if the current era is undesirable. There is no additional input required beyond the lever pull; the system does not demand timed actions.
- Pull the lever deliberately; rapid repeated pulls may make it harder to track which era you landed in.
- Use the lever as a way to explore a variety of periods in a single session.

Audio & Visual Presentation
The experience features stereo and surround sound to enhance immersion, with immersive audio throughout. Visuals include a date overlay and opening doors that frame the new environment. These sensory elements help convey the sense of stepping into a different time without leaving the machine itself.
- Adjust your headset volume to catch subtle ambient sounds.
- Watch the door animation for clues about the scale of the new setting.

Platform & Single‑Player Features
The title runs on Windows via Steam and supports tracked VR controllers, Steam achievements, camera comfort options, and family sharing. It is a single‑player experience, meaning no multiplayer or online components are required. All features are built into the VR‑only build, with no mention of keyboard‑only or mouse‑only control schemes.
- Steam achievements can track milestones as you explore different eras.
- Use family sharing if you want another household member to try the game without purchasing a second copy.
