About The Ranchers

The Ranchers is a cozy country‑life simulation that lets 1‑4 players build and run a farm in a large open‑world sandbox. After leaving city life you buy land, grow crops, raise animals and craft structures while managing resources and contracts.

The game blends farming, base‑building and exploration with a daily cycle and shifting seasons. Play solo or invite friends; each guest earns money and XP that can be taken back to their own save. Community feedback shapes the early‑access experience.

01 / THE GUIDE

Create & Expand Your Ranch

Start by purchasing a lot and using the workbench to turn gathered resources into fences, sprinklers, greenhouses and more. The sandbox freedom lets you design a simple studio or a multi‑story home and decorate it as you like.

Your ranch can grow by buying additional lots, building barns and coops of any size, and adding vehicles like bikes, pickups or sports cars for travel across the map.

  • Plan your layout early to leave room for future structures.
  • Use the hammer to craft essential items before expanding.

02 / THE GUIDE

Resource Management & Utilities

Running a ranch incurs costs, so you can sign water and electricity contracts, or build wells, wind turbines and solar panels. Surplus power can be sold to the village for profit.

Efficient consumption and high‑quality crops help you fulfill daily orders and earn respect from villagers, keeping the ranch financially stable.

  • Invest in renewable energy early to reduce contract fees.
  • Monitor crop quality to maximize market prices.

03 / THE GUIDE

Take Care of Animals

Build barns and coops to house chickens, bunnies, goats, cows and other livestock. Collect at least one of each species to complete the animal collection.

Animals contribute products for sale and add to the ranch’s charm, but they also require feeding and shelter, tying into your overall resource planning.

  • Start with chickens for quick egg income.
  • Upgrade barns to increase animal capacity.

04 / THE GUIDE

Explore the Open World

Travel on foot, by bike, pickup or sports car to discover markets, fashion boutiques, car dealerships, parks and even a casino. The world features a daily cycle and seasonal changes that affect store hours.

Plan errands around the clock, as stores close and open like in real life, adding a strategic layer to your exploration.

  • Check the in‑game clock before heading to distant markets.
  • Use faster vehicles for time‑sensitive trips.

05 / THE GUIDE

Multiplayer & Progression

Invite up to three friends; each player has their own ranch and world progression. When you visit a host, the host’s save controls quest progress, but guests still earn money and Skill Points that return to their own save.

Actions have consequences—destruction, stealing or reckless driving may attract police—so cooperative play can be both peaceful and adventurous.

  • Coordinate tasks to avoid duplicate resource gathering.
  • Respect local laws to prevent police interference.
