About The Plant Shop
The Plant Shop is a cozy horror adventure where you run a late‑night plant boutique as Silvia, a 26‑year‑old who works a corporate job by day. You take orders, craft simple plants with a pot, soil, seed and water, and serve customers while an unsettling story unfolds.
The game presents a narrative walking‑sim loop across three modes—Story, Relaxed and Endless—with multiple endings, Steam achievements, full controller support and VHS‑style visuals that give the shop an eerie, retro feel.
01 / THE GUIDE
Gameplay Loop
The core loop requires you to listen to each customer, identify whether they want a flower, plant or cactus, then craft the requested item. Crafting is described as easy and only needs a pot, soil, a seed and water, after which you serve the finished product.
While you repeat this loop, the narrative gradually reveals rumors of a town curse that began thirty years ago. The simple actions become a vehicle for story beats, letting you notice strange sounds and visual cues as you progress.
- Pay close attention to the wording of each order; it can hint at upcoming story moments.
- Focus on the crafting steps to keep the loop smooth and let the narrative unfold without distraction.

VHS Film Aesthetic
The visual presentation emulates old CRT screens, giving the game a grainy, VHS‑style look. This aesthetic creates an eerie atmosphere that contrasts with the shop’s cozy setting.
The retro visual treatment works together with the story, making ordinary shop actions feel unsettling. The retro treatment reinforces the horror undertone without altering gameplay mechanics.
- Watch for visual glitches; they frequently accompany narrative hints.
- Appreciate the retro look as a mood element rather than a gameplay factor.

Game Modes
Story Mode follows Silvia’s dream of a successful shop, delivering a structured narrative that can end in several different ways. Relaxed Mode removes any time pressure, allowing you to manage the shop at your own pace.
Endless Mode adds a leaderboard and a timed challenge, testing how long you can survive while fulfilling orders. All modes share the same core loop but differ in pacing and objectives, giving players flexibility in how they engage with the narrative and challenge.
- Start with Relaxed Mode to learn the loop before attempting the timed Endless Mode.
- Play Story Mode first if you want to see the multiple endings unfold.

Steam features such as Cloud, Achievements and Leaderboards are also available, allowing progress to be saved across sessions and providing a competitive ranking for Endless Mode on supported platforms.
- Use a supported controller for a couch‑friendly experience; the game does not demand rapid inputs.
- Enable Steam Cloud so your progress is saved across sessions.
