About The Planet Crafter: Prologue
In The Planet Crafter: Prologue you land on a hostile world with a single goal: transform it into a habitable environment for humanity. Survival hinges on managing thirst, oxygen, temperature and health while you gather the raw materials needed for terraforming.
The game blends adventure and base‑building. You craft tools, mine ores, and construct machines that heat the planet, raise atmospheric pressure and eventually generate breathable oxygen. It is a single‑player experience that offers partial controller support and can be shared via family sharing.
01 / THE GUIDE
Survival Mechanics
Your character tracks four vital stats—thirst, oxygen, temperature and health. Each stat appears on the HUD, and any decline toward zero creates a risk of failure, forcing you to locate water, breathable zones, heat sources or shelter to restore balance.
To keep your stats stable, plan routes between resource points and monitor the HUD continuously. This constant attention shapes every decision while exploring the planet’s surface.
- Watch the HUD frequently to notice stat changes early.
- Plan short trips between known resource locations to keep all stats stable.

Base Building
Building a base gives you a fixed location for storage, crafting stations and the machines required for terraforming. Structures can be placed on the planet’s surface and expanded as you acquire more components.
Each added machine connects to the base layout, allowing you to centralise heating, pressure and oxygen generation. Organising machines close together reduces travel time and keeps essential tools within easy reach.
- Leave empty tiles around machines for future additions.
- Group machines with similar functions to simplify monitoring.

Crafting & Mining
Mining ores supplies the raw materials needed for every crafted item and machine. The game lets you extract minerals directly from the planet’s surface, providing the building blocks for your terraforming project.
Crafting converts those minerals into tools, containers and advanced equipment. Every crafted piece serves a purpose, whether it is a basic hand tool for gathering or a component for a larger atmospheric device.
- Gather a variety of ores early to keep crafting options open.
- Create storage containers as soon as possible to keep resources tidy.

Atmospheric Engineering
Machines you build can raise planetary temperature and increase atmospheric pressure. These devices operate continuously once placed, gradually altering the environment toward conditions suitable for human life.
When temperature and pressure reach sufficient levels you can add oxygen‑generation machines. Together, these systems complete the transformation from a hostile world to a breathable habitat.
- Monitor temperature and pressure readouts to see progress.
- Add new machines only after the previous ones are stable.

Exploration
Scattered across the planet are crashed ships and ruins. Visiting these sites lets you explore crashed ships and ruins and discover more of the planet’s mystery.
Each discovery adds to your understanding of the planet, complementing the practical work of terraforming. Exploration therefore directly supports both narrative and practical goals.
- Mark discovered locations on your map for later reference.
- Search each ruin thoroughly; hidden items often appear in corners.
