About The Long Drive
The Long Drive is a single‑player road‑trip simulation where players wander an almost infinite, randomly generated desert. The game stresses freedom, driving, exploration and immersion while keeping car‑maintenance and survival mechanics minimal.
With a full tank the vehicle can travel roughly 500 km before refuelling, and there are no invisible walls or HUD warnings that block movement toward distant landmarks such as mountains.

Open World Desert
The desert landscape is generated anew each playthrough and extends without artificial borders. Players can drive wherever the terrain permits because the game does not display invisible walls, fence‑jump limits, or red “wrong direction” HUD signs.
This lack of imposed limits makes charting personal routes the primary activity; distant features like large mountains are reachable if the player can navigate to them.
- Follow the horizon to locate far landmarks; they are reachable with enough fuel.
- Observe terrain changes as cues for new points of interest.

Fuel Range
A full fuel tank supplies approximately 500 kilometers of travel, meaning the car does not consume 10–20 liters over a few hundred meters. This generous range supports long journeys without frequent stops.
Because fuel consumption is low, the game’s focus stays on exploration rather than detailed resource management.
- Plan routes that stay within the 500 km range before needing to locate a fuel source.
- Watch the fuel gauge during long stretches to avoid unexpected depletion.

Vehicle Customisation
Players may rotate mirrors to any angle or discard them entirely while driving at full speed. The game also lets the driver lean out of the car or move closer to the radio, offering physical interaction with the vehicle.
These options affect only the visual and positional experience; they do not alter core driving mechanics.
- Experiment with mirror positions for optimal rear visibility.
- Lean out for a different visual perspective while cruising.

Exploration Focus
The design centres on unrestricted wandering; there are minimal survival demands, so the main challenge is navigating the vast desert and discovering its features.
When a distant mountain is visible, players can drive to it and, if capable, climb it, reinforcing the open‑ended nature of the experience.
- Approach large terrain features gradually to assess climbability.
- Pause occasionally to observe subtle details that may indicate hidden locations.

Platform Support
The Long Drive is released for Windows and includes Remote Play Together and Family Sharing, allowing the session to be viewed or shared with others remotely or via shared accounts.
No macOS or Linux versions are listed, so official support is limited to Windows PCs.
- Use Remote Play Together to let a friend watch your drive in real time.
- Enable Family Sharing to give multiple accounts access on the same machine.
