01 / THE GUIDE
Build Creation
Every run begins with the task of assembling a team that works together. Heroes, items, relics and origins can be mixed to form unique synergies, and the game’s design emphasizes flexibility and freedom in those choices. Between automated battles you decide which gear to equip, which relics to activate and how to position your heroes for the next encounter. The system rewards thoughtful combinations; a well‑crafted build can overcome tougher enemies and progress further. Because the pool includes 65 heroes, 325 items, 150 relics and 60 origins, each attempt feels distinct, prompting players to experiment with new strategies each session.
- Compare the strengths of different origins before committing to a build.
- Track which item sets complement your hero’s abilities for later runs.

Hero Recruitment
The game lets you recruit special heroes to join your party. Each hero brings unique traits that interact with items, relics and origins, expanding the range of possible builds. Recruiting decisions are made before combat, allowing you to shape the team’s overall strategy. With 65 heroes available, the recruitment pool offers ample variety. Selecting heroes whose abilities complement each other can create powerful combos, while mismatched choices may hinder progress. The recruitment phase therefore becomes a key strategic moment each run.
- Look for heroes whose abilities align with the relics you plan to use.
- Balance melee and ranged heroes to cover different encounter types.

Difficulty Levels
The Last Flame features five difficulty tiers that test player knowledge and strategy. As you climb higher, enemies become tougher and resource management grows more critical. Each difficulty expects you to refine your builds and decision‑making to survive. Progressing through these tiers is optional but provides a clear measure of skill. Higher difficulties are designed to challenge your knowledge and strategy, encouraging players to revisit earlier runs with improved strategies.
- Start on a lower difficulty to learn hero interactions before tackling harder tiers.
- Adjust your build after each failed run to address specific weaknesses.

Endless Mode
Endless mode offers a separate challenge where the goal is to reach the highest floor possible. Unlike the ascension runs, there is no predefined endpoint; instead, each floor presents a new combat encounter that tests the limits of your current build. Success in endless mode relies on creating a resilient, adaptable team, as each floor pushes your build to its limit. Players often use this mode to benchmark their strongest builds against the game's scaling mechanics.
- Prioritize durability in your gear when aiming for high floors.
- Monitor resource consumption to avoid shortages deep into the run.

Challenges
Twenty distinct challenges are available to modify gameplay and test specific aspects of your strategy. These challenges provide fresh twists on the core loop, letting you experience the game in new ways. Engaging with challenges adds replay value and encourages players to experiment with different builds under altered conditions. Completing challenges can also serve as a benchmark for how well a particular team performs under constraints.
- Select challenges that highlight a weakness you want to improve.
- Use challenges as practice runs for new hero combinations.
