About The Highrise
The Highrise thrusts players into a sealed skyscraper overrun by alien monsters that hunt by sound and scent. As a survivor, you must scavenge, craft, and manage hunger and thirst while staying silent to avoid the sniffers. The game blends first‑person survival with a vertical descent, offering single‑player, co‑op, and several modes. Each floor feels like a real office or mall, and the ventilation shafts provide the only safe passage through the hostile building.
01 / THE GUIDE
Resource Gathering
Furniture throughout the high‑rise can be destroyed for raw materials. Using tools matched to each material type speeds acquisition, letting you build weapons, a still, a cooktop, and a workbench. The lower you descend, the richer the supplies become.
Be mindful that food can cause poisoning, which draws the sniffers. Managing hunger and thirst while avoiding contaminated items is essential for survival.
- Prioritize tools that match furniture material for quicker material yields.
- Check food freshness before consumption to reduce poisoning risk.

Stealth and Sound
Monsters detect the smallest noises—coughs, stomach gurgles, or breaking glass. Staying quiet lets you sneak past them, while loud actions attract a rush of sniffers.
The ventilation system links all floors and serves as a safe zone, but only if you can move through it without making noise.
- Move slowly and avoid breaking objects to stay undetected.
- Use the ventilation shafts for quiet travel between floors.

Crafting Tools
Collected resources let you craft survival gear at workbenches. Essential items include a still for water purification, a cooktop for boiling food, and various weapons for combat.
Each crafted item can be installed and used to improve efficiency, whether for infiltration or fighting monsters.
- Build a still early to secure safe drinking water.
- Craft a cooktop to boil food for meals.

Character Selection
Six playable characters are available, each with unique stats and passive skills. Choosing a character that matches your playstyle can affect how efficiently you gather resources or avoid monsters.
Multiplayer balances adjustments based on player count, as described for multiplayer sessions.
- Review each character’s passive skill before starting a session.
- In co‑op, select complementary characters to cover different survival needs.

Game Modes
Sandbox mode grants infinite lives and resource respawns, allowing unrestricted exploration. Survival mode limits lives and resources for a true challenge. Custom mode lets players configure difficulty options.
Multiplayer supports up to four players (or eight in custom mode), with balance tweaks that respond to the number of participants.
- Try Sandbox first to learn building layouts without pressure.
- Switch to Survival for a more intense resource‑management test.
