01 / THE GUIDE

Playable Characters

Four characters are hidden in the game and become available as you progress. Each character is described as having a different play style, giving players distinct tactical options.

Because characters are unlocked through discovery, you can try each one to see which style fits your approach to the procedural challenges.

  • Test each unlocked character early to understand its unique play style.
  • Observe how the same dungeon feels with different characters.

02 / THE GUIDE

Dungeon Types

The world contains six dungeon types, each generated anew for every run. These dungeons host countless random encounters, keeping each expedition fresh.

Ten mission types appear throughout the dungeons, providing varied objectives that test combat and sanity management.

  • Note which dungeon types pair well with certain characters or spells.
  • Track the mission types you enjoy most for future runs.

Magic Spells

Eight magic spells can be learned, offering strategic options against the twenty discoverable monsters. Spells are presented as a way to gain the upper hand.

Learning spells early provides additional tools that may help when sanity drops during difficult encounters.

  • Experiment with different spells to see which counter specific monsters.
  • Keep a high‑damage spell ready for tough fights.

Insanity Edition Modes

The Insanity Edition adds special challenge modes, including Daily Challenges and an infinite dungeon called “The Descent.” These modes extend gameplay beyond the core adventure.

Daily Challenges refresh each day, while The Descent offers an endless dungeon for players seeking a marathon test of endurance.

  • Use Daily Challenges to explore different constraints each day.
  • Treat The Descent as a personal endurance benchmark.

05 / THE GUIDE

Bestiary & Collectibles

A bestiary tracks the twenty monsters you encounter, encouraging completion as you learn each foe’s behavior. Collectibles scattered throughout dungeons reveal deeper lore about the world and the Ancients.

Finishing the bestiary and gathering all collectibles provides a comprehensive picture of the narrative, rewarding thorough exploration.

  • Log monster traits as you encounter them to aid future runs.
  • Prioritize collectible locations that also offer safe combat opportunities.
