About The Bus

The Bus puts you behind the wheel of officially licensed city buses as you travel Berlin’s real‑world routes recreated at a true 1:1 scale. Landmarks such as the Victory Column, Brandenburg Gate and Alexanderplatz appear along more than 200 stops, while a day‑night cycle and dynamic weather keep the environment lively.

Both solo and online co‑op play are supported, and the game includes a built‑in editor suite plus Steam Workshop integration for community maps, repaints and other extensions. Players can choose from three control styles—Realistic, Arcade and Custom—to match their preferred level of simulation.

01 / THE GUIDE

Realistic Berlin Routes

The game features authentic Berlin bus lines—including TXL, 100, N100, 123, 142, 147, 200, 245 and 300—mapped at a true 1:1 scale with over 200 stops. Each line follows the city’s actual streets, letting players recognize familiar intersections and landmarks while driving.

A day‑night cycle and weather system can match the current values in Berlin, so the lighting and precipitation change according to real‑world conditions. This synchronization adds visual variety without altering the underlying route geometry.

  • Check the in‑game clock before starting a line to anticipate typical rush‑hour traffic.
  • Enable weather synchronization to experience seasonal changes without manual adjustments.

02 / THE GUIDE

Licensed Bus Fleet

Players can select from 20 officially licensed bus variants supplied by Scania, MAN, VDL and MB, covering solo and articulated models such as the Scania Citywide LF and MAN Lion’s City DD. Each vehicle includes an ATRON onboard computer for realistic operation.

The different bus types vary in handling characteristics and passenger capacity, allowing you to match a vehicle to a specific line’s demand. Interior and exterior details reflect the real manufacturers, reinforcing the simulation’s authenticity.

  • Choose articulated buses for lines with higher passenger volumes.
  • Familiarize yourself with the ATRON computer to manage ticket sales efficiently.

Game Modes

Single‑player Economy mode lets you build a bus company, invest in new vehicles, hire staff, maintain fleets and earn income through contracts and ticket sales. The mode tracks finances and requires you to keep vehicles operational.

Freeplay mode removes economic constraints, allowing you to drive any licensed bus on any line at will. Multiplayer supports cooperative driving on scheduled lines or discovery tours, letting groups explore Berlin together.

  • Start in Freeplay to learn routes before tackling Economy management.
  • Use Arcade control mode for a more relaxed driving feel if Realistic feels demanding.

Workshop & Modding

Steam Workshop integration lets you download community‑made maps, vehicle repaints and other extensions directly from the game. These additions can broaden the variety of routes and visual styles available without leaving the client.

The built‑in modding tools include line, route, timetable and tour editors, enabling creators to design custom scenarios. Photo mode provides a way to capture high‑quality screenshots of your creations for sharing.

  • Browse the Workshop regularly for new community maps that add fresh routes.
  • Use the route editor to craft a personal tour of lesser‑known Berlin spots.

05 / THE GUIDE

Multiplayer Co‑op

In multiplayer, you can team up with others to drive scheduled lines or embark on discovery tours across Berlin. The shared world retains AI traffic, pedestrians and complex traffic‑light logic, preserving the city’s realism for all participants.

Co‑op sessions support full controller, keyboard and mouse input, and they synchronize weather and time so every player experiences identical environmental conditions.

  • Coordinate route assignments with teammates to avoid overlapping traffic.
  • Adjust your control preferences before joining to match the group’s setup.
