About TETRACHROMA
TETRACHROMA expands classic tetromino stacking by requiring every block in a cleared line to share the same colour. Pieces arrive in two or more colours, and a line only disappears when the colour‑matching condition is met, adding a puzzle layer to each drop.
The title also includes modern stacking tools such as wall kicks, lock delay, spins, perfect clears and combos. It offers over 40 hand‑designed puzzles, several gameplay modes, visual customisation through block styles and palettes, and six speed settings ranging from Peaceful to Death.

Color Matching Mechanic
Each falling piece can contain two or more colours. A line clears only when every block in that line matches, turning line removal into a colour‑matching challenge rather than a simple shape fit.
When a piece is placed adjacent to an existing line, the line’s colour changes to match the piece, a rule inspired by the board game Reversi and essential for creating multi‑line clears.
- Observe the colours of nearby lines before dropping to anticipate which lines will flip.
- Try to position pieces so a single drop can convert several lines to the same colour.

Game Modes
TETRACHROMA provides five or more distinct modes, each available in a 400‑line marathon and a 100‑line version. Modes alter board shape, block size, or the piece set, giving varied spatial challenges.
Examples include BIG mode, which uses double‑sized blocks for extra difficulty, and CELL mode, which employs a square board with a modified piece set, changing how players manage colour matching.
- Begin with the Standard mode to learn colour mechanics before trying BIG or CELL.
- Switch between marathon and 100‑line versions to practice both endurance and precision.

Puzzle Collection
The game ships with 40 hand‑designed puzzles that focus on the colour‑changing mechanic. Each puzzle presents a specific board layout that must be solved using the flip rule.
Solving these puzzles demonstrates how strategic piece placement can change line colours and enable clears of multiple lines with a single piece.
- Note which placements cause the most effective colour changes.
- After mastering a puzzle, replay it to explore alternative solutions.

Visual Customisation
Clearing modes unlocks more than 10 block styles and over 20 colour palettes for customising the look of the board.
These visual options let players select palettes that improve contrast, which can help identify mismatched colours during fast play.
- Choose high‑contrast palettes to reduce colour‑reading errors.
- Mix block styles to keep the visual experience fresh.

Difficulty Settings
Six speed settings—Peaceful, Easy, Normal, Hard, Master and Death—adjust the drop speed while keeping the colour‑matching rules unchanged, allowing gradual skill development.
Higher speeds increase the challenge of reacting to colour flips and planning combos, giving players a clear path from casual to intense play.
- Start at Peaceful to focus on colour strategy before raising speed.
- Try Master or Death after you are comfortable with combos.
