About TerraTech

TerraTech is an open‑world sandbox where you design vehicles and bases from a vast library of blocks. You scavenge, craft, and buy parts to survive, fight rivals, and explore procedurally generated biomes.

The game offers a Campaign for story‑driven prospecting, Creative for unrestricted building, and a Gauntlet Challenge for timed tests. Multiplayer includes co‑op versions of Campaign and Creative, plus competitive Deathmatch and Sumo arenas.

01 / THE GUIDE

Gameplay Modes

Campaign follows an intergalactic prospector seeking profit and glory, guiding players through missions and resource gathering. Creative removes objectives, letting you build without limits, while the Gauntlet Challenge pits you against a clock for speed runs. Co‑op Campaign and Creative let you team up with other prospectors, and competitive modes such as Deathmatch Arena and Sumo provide PvP battles for supremacy.

  • Try the Gauntlet Challenge after mastering basic vehicle controls to improve efficiency.
  • In co‑op Creative, coordinate block placement to avoid overlapping structures.

Building System

You construct cars, tanks, and planes using blocks from several Mining Corporations. Every block—wheels, guns, wings, or storage—can be attached to create versatile Techs. All equipable blocks and items can be damaged or destroyed, so durability matters. The system supports endless creativity: from armored combat vehicles to sprawling resource processing bases, each design can be tailored to a specific purpose or hybrid role.

  • Balance armor and mobility to survive rival miners.
  • Place storage blocks near resource processors to streamline production.

Resources and Crafting

Gather natural resources across biomes, then process them into storage, refining, and construction bases. These bases enable you to craft new blocks, expanding your building options. Crafting a Venture Hail Fire Rifle, for example, requires prospecting for specific materials. Processing chains are essential for sustained growth; without refined resources you cannot fabricate advanced components or repair damaged blocks.

  • Set up a dedicated refining station near abundant ore deposits.
  • Keep a stockpile of basic materials to avoid downtime during combat.

04 / THE GUIDE

Corporations and Reputation

Blocks are sold by Mining Corporations, each with a distinct technology style—GSO, GeoCorp, Venture, Hawkeye, Better Future, and Reticule Research. Completing missions and discovering new blocks for a corporation improves your standing, unlocking higher‑tier components. Your reputation determines which advanced parts become available, influencing vehicle performance and combat capability.

  • Focus early missions on one corporation to unlock its premium parts quickly.
  • Mix components from multiple corps for hybrid designs that exploit each strength.

Multiplayer Options

TerraTech supports online co‑op for Campaign and Creative, allowing teams to build and explore together. Competitive PvP includes Deathmatch Arena and Sumo, where players battle for dominance. The game also offers Steam achievements, trading cards, and workshop support. Partial controller support and family sharing are available, broadening accessibility for various play styles.

  • Coordinate roles in co‑op Creative—one player handles resource gathering, another focuses on vehicle assembly.
  • Practice in Deathmatch Arena to learn opponent tactics before entering Sumo.
