About Technobabylon
Technobabylon unfolds in 2087, a world where genetic engineering is routine, the drug Trance dominates daily life, and the omnipresent AI Central runs the city. Three protagonists—agent Charlie Regis, agoraphobic Latha Sesame, and case officer Max Lao—each confront personal crises that become entangled in a larger conspiracy threatening the entire metropolis.
The game is a single‑player adventure available on Windows, macOS, and Linux via Steam. It incorporates Steam features such as Achievements, Trading Cards, Captions, Cloud saves, Commentary, and Family Sharing, providing a flexible solo experience that can be accessed across supported platforms.

Story and Characters
Technobabylon follows three distinct characters: Charlie Regis, a secret‑police agent blackmailed over his unborn children; Latha Sesame, a Trance‑addicted agoraphobe targeted for assassination; and Max Lao, a former criminal now serving the CEL police. Their individual struggles intersect as they uncover conspiracies that could reshape the city.
Each character’s perspective reveals a different facet of the 2087 setting, from invasive surveillance to the societal reliance on Trance. The intertwining narratives drive the emotional core of the game and shape the player’s understanding of the world.
- Note how each protagonist’s background influences dialogue and motivations.
- Compare the three viewpoints to identify recurring themes in the conspiracy.

Single‑Player Experience
Technobabylon is designed for solo play, allowing the player to progress through the story at their own pace without any multiplayer components. The structure emphasizes narrative choices and exploration rather than competitive or cooperative mechanics.
Because the game is single‑player, all story events are experienced directly by the player, making it suitable for those who prefer a self‑contained adventure without reliance on other participants.
- Take time to explore each scene; there are no time‑pressured multiplayer constraints.
- Take a moment between scenes to reflect on story developments before proceeding.

Steam Achievements
Technobabylon integrates Steam Achievements, which are awarded automatically when specific in‑game milestones are reached. These achievements appear on the player’s Steam profile and can be viewed through the client’s achievement list.
While achievements do not alter gameplay, they provide an extra layer of optional goals for players who enjoy tracking progress beyond the main narrative.
- Review the achievement list in Steam to set personal objectives.
- Notice which story events naturally trigger achievements.

Captions Availability
The game includes caption support, allowing dialogue and important audio cues to be displayed as text. Captions can be toggled in the options menu, providing accessibility for players who need visual representation of spoken content.
This feature ensures that the complex narrative is conveyed clearly, supporting a broader audience and enhancing comprehension of the story’s themes.
- Enable captions if audio dialogue is difficult to follow.
- Enable captions in the game's settings if you prefer visual representation of spoken content.

Family Sharing Compatibility
Technobabylon supports Steam’s Family Sharing, allowing multiple users on the same hardware to access the game from a shared library. This enables friends or family members to play without purchasing separate copies.
Family Sharing does not change the single‑player nature of the experience; each user runs the game independently while sharing the same installation.
- Set up Family Sharing through Steam’s account settings before playing.
- Verify that each user can launch the game from the shared library.
