About Tank Squad

Tank Squad is a tactical‑combat action title that puts you in command of a World II tank squad. You fight historic battles in linear campaigns, either solo or with up to three friends, and each mission has its own win conditions.

The game offers realistic vehicle models with simplified mechanics, supporting total‑control and multi‑crew play. You can repair, refuel, and re‑arm tanks, manage squads, and call in infantry, artillery, or air support when available while trying to preserve as many vehicles as possible for the final battle.

01 / THE GUIDE

Campaign Structure

The campaign is divided into two opposing sides—German vs Soviet and Soviet vs German—both centered on the 1943 Kursk battle. It contains 38 missions, including 20 German skirmish scenarios, 6 Soviet skirmish missions, and 12 procedural missions.

Each mission is a separate battle with its own objectives. Losses affect the pool of available tanks for later fights, so players must plan tactics and preserve vehicles to stay effective through the campaign.

  • Track which tanks survive each mission to keep your strongest units for later battles.
  • Use procedural missions to test tactics before tackling story missions.

02 / THE GUIDE

Multiplayer Modes

Up to four players can join a session, each controlling a full tank or a crew member in multi‑crew mode. Communication is handled via a tank radio, allowing coordinated orders and shared objectives.

Both total‑control and multi‑crew options are available, and players can cooperate in skirmish or procedural missions, making teamwork essential for success.

  • Assign one player to handle the tank radio for clear order flow.
  • Mix total‑control and crew roles to cover more tactical ground.

Vehicle Management

Players can create, replace, and assign units to squads automatically or manually. The game features 23 vehicles, including Tigers, Panthers, T‑34s, and KV‑1s, each with modules that can be repaired.

Squad upkeep involves pulling damaged tanks to repair stations, refilling ammo, and refueling, ensuring the force stays combat‑ready throughout the campaign.

  • Balance heavy and light tanks to handle varied enemy threats.
  • Check ammo levels before engaging high‑intensity fights.

04 / THE GUIDE

Damage & Repair System

Tanks sustain damage to exterior and interior parts, including engine, tracks, and gearbox. Damaged vehicles can be taken to a repair station where crew members work together to restore functionality.

Repair actions also allow replenishing main‑gun and machine‑gun ammunition and refueling, which are necessary to keep tanks operational for subsequent missions.

  • Prioritize repairing mobility components to avoid being stranded.
  • Coordinate crew members to speed up the repair process.

Customization & Assets

The game offers unlimited options to apply camouflage patterns, side numbers, and emblems on vehicles. All vehicles are based on construction documents, expert opinions, and historical documentation.

Static weapons such as 8.8 cm Flak and 15 cm Nebelwerfer are also modeled, providing additional visual detail while keeping the focus on tank combat.

  • Experiment with different emblems to identify your squad visually.
  • Use the camouflage options to personalize each vehicle.
