About Tactical Annihilation
Tactical Annihilation is a sci‑fi turn‑based strategy title that plays on a hexagonal grid. Players command land, sea and air forces, build bases, manage an economy, and can field massive mega‑units. Over 70 unit and building types and twelve commanders add depth to each battle.
The game offers a 26‑mission campaign, a BattleSpace mode with 30 challenge maps, and a Skirmish mode supporting up to eight players on 20+ maps. A built‑in trigger‑based map editor and Steam Workshop integration let players create and share custom scenarios.
01 / THE GUIDE
Hex‑Based Turn‑Based Combat
Combat occurs on a hex grid, allowing precise positioning of mixed land, sea and air units. Box‑select lets you issue orders to many units at once, streamlining large engagements.
An AI‑assisted decision system can control non‑critical units, letting you concentrate on decisive actions while the system handles rear‑guard tasks.
- Group similar units before box‑selecting to keep orders clear.
- Assign the AI assistant to units that are unlikely to affect the main fight.

Base Building and Economic Management
You can construct economic structures, factories, defense towers, and long‑range artillery batteries, turning defensive positions into offensive threats.
These constructions generate the resources needed to produce the wide array of units and eventually fund mega‑unit construction.
- Place factories near resource‑rich tiles to shorten supply lines.
- Combine towers with artillery to protect production hubs while threatening enemies.

Colossal Mega Units
Mega units such as a massive armored tank, a colossal airship, or a gigantic missile‑spider convert economic advantage into battlefield dominance.
Deploying a mega unit requires significant investment but can shift the tide of a battle with a single powerful strike.
- Match the mega unit’s movement type to the map terrain for smoother navigation.
- Consider holding a mega unit for a decisive moment rather than using it early.

Commanders and Special Skills
Twelve commanders provide passive traits to all troops and each possesses an active skill capable of reshaping the battlefield.
Choosing a commander whose passive aligns with your strategic focus—aggression, defense, or economy—can enhance overall performance.
- Pair a defensive‑oriented commander with strong tower placements.
- Experiment with active skills that complement your unit composition.

Game Modes and Map Editor
The campaign delivers 26 missions that teach units and mechanics, while BattleSpace adds 30 extra challenge maps and Skirmish offers over 20 customizable maps for up to eight players.
A built‑in map editor with trigger‑based scripting lets players design their own scenarios, and Steam Workshop integration enables sharing them.
- Use editor triggers to create unique victory conditions.
- Test custom maps in single‑player before hosting multiplayer matches.
