Story premise
In Piova, a city of perpetual rain and music, young men and women gather to pursue their dreams. Chris Vertin arrives from a rural hometown, enrolling in the communal school to study the Fortelle and become a Fortenist.
Two years later, graduation approaches and Chris must compose an original song with a vocal partner for his final exam. He feels unmotivated, spending his days reading letters from his girlfriend and listening to a 14 cm musical fairy living in his room.
- Pay attention to the letters for clues about Chris’s emotional state.
- Notice the fairy’s remarks; they often hint at upcoming musical moments.

Musical gameplay
During musical sections, players are invited to play the Fortelle in time with the metronome of the rain’s patter. The rhythm of the rain serves as a guide for when to input notes, linking the instrument’s sound to the environment.
The quality of the performance influences the narrative direction. Better synchronization can open more favorable story branches, while less accurate play may lead to alternative outcomes.
- Listen closely to the rain’s pattern to keep a steady tempo.
- Observe how the fairy’s voice aligns with your playing.

Multiple endings
The game provides several conclusions that depend on the player’s choices and musical performance. Dialogue decisions and the success of the final song shape which ending is reached.
Each ending reflects a different resolution for Chris, his relationship with the fairy, and his connection to his girlfriend, illustrating how motivation and collaboration affect his future.
- Try different dialogue options to explore varied story paths.
- Aim for consistent timing in musical sections to access more positive endings.
