About Swarmdustry
Swarmdustry is a factory‑building strategy game where you grow a living production network. Workers, resources, energy and structures are organic, and you evolve the hive by unlocking genetic codes in the Genetic Chamber.
The world is generated from a seed‑based infinite map that can be tweaked for enemies, trees, water and resource richness. Expansion requires balancing automated lines, energy distribution, and defense against robotic wave attacks.
01 / THE GUIDE
Organic Production Network
Workers such as Movers, Miners, Fireflies, Santchers, Acflies, Jumpers and Drones each have a single purpose, forming a living industry that transports resources and builds structures across the hive. Each unit type contributes to a specific step in the production chain.
Because every structure must be manned, the overall output depends on having enough of the appropriate worker type. Adding more of a given unit expands the capacity of the task it performs, while neglecting a role creates bottlenecks.
- Match the number of workers to the number of structures that require them.
- Observe which worker type becomes a bottleneck before expanding other parts of the line.

Energy and Fuel Management
Fireflies deliver energy through a spire network that follows the path of least resistance. Buildings that need energy are supplied by fireflies traveling through the spire network you design.
Some buildings also require fuel such as coal or wood. Supplying both energy and fuel keeps those structures operational, so you must plan routes and storage for each resource type.
- Place spire connections close to high‑energy consumers to reduce travel distance.
- Keep a small stockpile of coal or wood near fuel‑dependent buildings.

Genetic Evolution
The Genetic Chamber lets you unlock genetic codes that expand the hive’s industrial capacity. Unlocking codes expands much of the hive’s industrial capacity, supporting further growth of the production system.
Evolving the swarm is necessary to meet higher resource demands and to access advanced building types that support a bigger colony.
- Prioritize codes that expand the industrial capacity you need for your next goals.
- Compare the description of each code to see which matches your current production goal.

Automation with Drones
Drones can place buildings automatically after you copy and paste a layout. This lets you expand a base quickly without manually positioning each structure.
Automation works alongside manual mining and crafting, allowing you to focus on higher‑level planning while drones handle repetitive placement tasks.
- Create a reusable template for common building clusters before using drones.
- Test a small copy‑paste layout first to ensure drones place everything as intended.

Modding and Steam Workshop
Integrated mod tools let you add, remove or modify recipes, buildings, units and technologies, and you can run custom scripts on top of the game’s code.
Mods can be uploaded directly to the Steam Workshop from within the game and used while playing offline, giving you flexibility to experiment with new content.
- Start with a simple script change to become familiar with the mod system.
- Browse the Workshop for community‑tested mods before creating your own.
