About Supraland
Supraland is a first‑person Metroidvania puzzle adventure that blends influences from Zelda, Metroid and Portal. It drops players into a large, interconnected sandbox where progress hinges on discovering and combining versatile abilities.
Although the visuals feel child‑friendly, the design targets seasoned players, offering 12‑25 hours of exploration, creative puzzles, and fast‑paced shooter‑style combat that rewards clever use of the tools you acquire.
01 / THE GUIDE
Core Gameplay Loop
The game encourages independent play by giving a minimal story and an overarching goal, then letting you explore freely. Most paths are initially blocked until you acquire a new ability that opens them.
Exploration is rewarded with upgrades hidden in chests that appear just as you think you’ve reached a dead end, keeping the loop of discovery, ability gain, and further access tight and satisfying.
- Observe blocked routes; they often hint at a specific ability you’ll need later.
- When a chest appears unexpectedly, check its upgrade—it may unlock multiple new paths.

Ability Design
Abilities are crafted to be highly versatile, allowing many different uses across the world. Combining abilities multiplies their potential, turning simple tools into complex solutions.
The design goal was to surprise players with fresh applications for familiar powers, so each new skill feels both useful and inventive in later puzzles and combat scenarios.
- Experiment with ability combos in open areas before tackling a tough puzzle.
- Note how an ability you used for combat might also open a hidden passage.

Puzzle Philosophy
Puzzles are designed to be understood quickly once their core idea is grasped, avoiding cumbersome execution. Traditional puzzle types from other games were deliberately excluded.
The deeper you progress, the more inventive the puzzles become, prompting you to reconsider how your current abilities can be applied in novel ways.
- When a puzzle feels unfamiliar, step back and list the abilities you currently have.
- Compare new puzzles to earlier ones; similar mechanics often reappear with a twist.

Combat Style
Combat draws from classic fast‑paced shooters like Unreal, Doom and Quake, emphasizing high‑speed strafing, jumping, and continuous fire without reload concerns.
Enemies charge aggressively, rewarding players who can weave movement and shooting together, making fights feel kinetic and fluid.
- Maintain momentum; stopping too often makes enemy charges harder to dodge.
- Use jumping to break line‑of‑sight while keeping fire on approaching foes.

Progression and Playtime
Supraland offers roughly 12‑25 hours of content, balancing a sizable world with a restraint on needless collectibles. Upgrades appear at meaningful moments rather than as filler.
The game respects the player’s time, focusing on meaningful exploration and puzzle solving rather than inflating length with trivial items.
- Prioritize main‑line objectives to experience the core story within the expected playtime.
- Treat optional chests as genuine upgrades rather than mere collectibles.
