About Sunset Summit
Sunset Summit lets players scale sixteen handcrafted climbing routes spread across four floating sky islands. Each route runs about an hour, giving roughly sixteen hours of playtime and offering both solo and cooperative experiences.
Groups of up to eight friends can climb together, sharing axes, ropes, drones and quirky items while staying in touch with proximity chat and walkie‑talkies. Checkpoints are placed throughout, and falling triggers an immediate respawn.
01 / THE GUIDE
Co‑op Climbing
Teams of one to eight players ascend the same route, aiming to reach the summit before sunset. The description emphasizes teamwork and shared tools rather than individual competition.
All players see the same checkpoints, and the game’s instant‑respawn rule applies equally in solo or group sessions, keeping the climb’s rhythm consistent for everyone.
- Discuss tool distribution early so each teammate knows who will carry ropes or drones.
- Use the walkie‑talkie to announce when you approach a checkpoint.

Climbing Gear
Axes are the basic climbing instrument, while ropes let players create safe passages for others. Item‑delivery drones can transport gear across longer gaps.
Unconventional items such as pogo sticks, booster pills, umbrellas and other tools are listed, giving players extra options beyond the core equipment.
- Try a rope on a route with wide gaps to see how it changes movement.
- Reserve drones for teammates who are far from the next checkpoint.

03 / THE GUIDE
Checkpoint System
Each route contains “plenty of checkpoints” scattered along the climb. These act as safe points where progress is retained.
If a player falls, the game states they “instantly respawn,” meaning the player reappears without delay after a fall.
- Plan your ascent around visible checkpoints to reduce the distance you must climb after a fall.
- Communicate checkpoint locations with teammates to coordinate safe group movement.
04 / THE GUIDE
Communication Tools
Proximity chat lets nearby players talk without leaving the climbing view, while walkie‑talkies provide another way to stay in touch with the group.
Both systems are mentioned as the means to stay in touch during the climb, supporting coordinated effort.
- Keep messages short and clear to avoid cluttering the audio channel.
- Adjust the volume settings if background sounds become distracting.

Game Settings
The game offers adjustable difficulty, custom volume controls, a realistic in‑game camera that can be snapped for photos, and the ability to save at any time.
Full controller support, Steam Cloud, and the option to play without timed input are also listed, indicating flexible accessibility options.
- Start on a lower difficulty to learn route layouts before increasing the challenge.
- Use the camera feature at a checkpoint to capture a summit moment.
