About Subnautica 2
Subnautica 2 is an underwater survival adventure set on a new alien world. After the colony ship CICADA departs, its AI pushes the mission onward, leaving you stranded to survive and decide humanity’s future.
The game is built as a single‑player experience that can be expanded to online co‑op with up to three friends. Players choose from four pre‑designed pioneers, explore biomes with the Tadpole submersible, and craft bases while the title remains in active Early Access development.

Gameplay Modes
Subnautica 2 offers a core single‑player mode that can be extended to online co‑operative multiplayer for up to three additional players. The co‑op experience lets friends explore ruins together and share survival tasks.
Both modes share the same survival mechanics, tools, and narrative, allowing players to switch between solo and cooperative play without changing the underlying world.
- Try starting solo to learn basic survival, then invite friends for larger expeditions.
- Coordinate base locations with teammates to avoid overlapping construction.
