About Styx: Blades of Greed
Styx: Blades of Greed puts you in the role of Styx, a witty goblin thief, as he chases the dangerous resource Quartz across a world on the brink of war. The game expands the series’ stealth‑action roots with vertical, Metroidvania‑style exploration and new powers like cloning, invisibility, mind control and time shift.
Travel by glider, grapple, or claws across three large open zones – the human‑border Wall, the orc village Turquoise Dawn, and the elven ruins Akenash. Craft weapons and potions, use a crew aboard a zeppelin, and solve each heist in multiple ways while enjoying full controller support and adjustable difficulty.

Stealth Tools and Powers
Styx can equip a variety of abilities that shape how each infiltration unfolds. Amber‑derived skills bring back cloning and invisibility, while Quartz grants mind control and time shift. These powers let you approach puzzles from several angles.
The game encourages preparation: you craft weapons and potions before a heist, then select the tools that best suit the layout. Each new tool unlocks previously unreachable areas, reinforcing the Metroidvania progression.
- Experiment with both cloning and invisibility to see which fits your playstyle in a given area.
- Combine mind control with time shift for creative solutions to timed traps.

Vertical Exploration
The three environments are designed with height in mind. Use the glider to soar, the grapple to zip to distant points, and Styx’s claws to scale massive walls. Each tool opens routes that were previously inaccessible.
Progression is tied to acquiring these traversal tools, meaning new areas become reachable as you master gliding, grappling, and climbing, echoing classic Metroidvania design.
- Try the grapple to discover hidden ledges and inaccessible spots.
- Climbing with claws can reveal shortcuts that bypass longer routes.

World Factions and Setting
The story unfolds during the onset of the Great War between elves, humans and orcs. Styx’s quest for Quartz places him amid familiar faces and new characters, all while the Inquisition sets traps.
The three zones reflect each faction: the human‑border Wall, the orc village Turquoise Dawn, and the elven ruins Akenash, providing distinct visual and narrative flavors.
- Observe the environmental cues in each zone to anticipate faction‑specific hazards.
- Notice recurring characters for hints about upcoming plot twists.

Crew and Zeppelin
Styx now leads his own crew aboard a zeppelin, shifting from a hired hand to a leader. The crew assists in hunting Quartz and adds narrative depth to the heists.
The zeppelin serves as the vessel from which Styx and his crew hunt Quartz, framing the story and introducing new characters.
- Pay attention to crew dialogue for subtle strategy hints.
- Use the zeppelin’s narrative role to gauge the stakes of each mission.
