About Steel Salvo
Steel Salvo delivers a fast‑paced first‑person shooter set inside a giant mech. Players dash, hover, wield two large firearms and an energy sword while confronting varied enemy robots such as spider‑turrets and swarming drones. The game’s pace demands constant movement to survive the onslaught.
A short single‑player story follows the last hope of Neptune, featuring fully voiced characters with optional English subtitles. After completing the normal campaign, an extra hard mode unlocks, doubling enemy numbers for a near‑bullet‑hell challenge. The title is free‑to‑play, supports full controllers, and offers Steam achievements and Family Sharing.

Gameplay Mechanics
The player controls a mech equipped with dash and hover technology, allowing rapid repositioning during combat. Two oversized firearms and an energy sword provide both ranged and melee options against diverse robotic foes.
Enemy designs range from stationary spider‑turrets to groups of agile drones, each requiring the player to combine movement and weapon use. The design encourages staying mobile to avoid being reduced to scrap metal.
- Experiment with alternating between firearms and the energy sword to discover which works best against specific enemy types.
- Use dash and hover together to create unpredictable movement patterns that can confuse enemy targeting.

Hard Mode
Hard mode becomes available after beating the game in normal mode. It introduces twice the number of enemies, creating a dense barrage of bullets that tests player reflexes.
The mode is described as a “grueling, almost bullet‑hell experience,” emphasizing the need for continuous movement to survive the increased firepower.
- Treat hard mode as a test of the movement skills you built in normal mode; keep moving at all times.
- Observe enemy spawn patterns early in a level to anticipate the larger waves in hard mode.
