About Spooky Express
In Spooky Express you manage a haunted railway that ferries undead passengers across Trainsylvania. You must plot routes, lay tracks, and deliver each monster to its proper resting place while keeping humans safe. The game offers over 200 levels, each presented as a compact diorama with a spooky soundtrack.
Designed by the creators of A Monster’s Expedition and others, the title blends casual strategy with charming visuals and comics. It supports full controller, keyboard, and mouse input, and includes features such as Steam Cloud saves and Remote Play Together.
01 / THE GUIDE
Route Planning & Track Laying
Each level requires you to plot a single‑track path that never crosses itself. You place track segments one at a time, ensuring the train can reach every required stop without intersecting earlier sections.
Because only one passenger can occupy the car at a time, timing your stops matters; you must guide the train to each monster’s destination before moving on to the next.
- Start by sketching a rough path on paper to visualize non‑crossing routes.
- Place tracks that lead directly to a stop before extending toward the next, reducing back‑tracking.

Monster Destinations
Every undead passenger has a specific home: vampires head to coffins, zombies to graves, and other creatures to their themed locations. Delivering them correctly completes the puzzle.
Human passengers appear as interlopers; you must escort them away before they are eaten, adding an extra layer of routing challenge.
- Prioritize monsters with the longest distance to their home to avoid later detours.
- Watch for human characters early and route the train to clear them before they block monster stops.

Level Design & Environments
Levels are set in distinct Trainsylvania locales such as the Pumpkin Patch, Morbid Manor, and Impish Inferno. Each area is built as a cozy diorama with its own visual flair.
The environments contain playful touches and surprises, encouraging players to explore the layout while solving the track puzzle.
- Observe background details; they often hint at optimal track directions.
- Use the unique layout of each locale to plan routes that naturally avoid crossing.
