About Splasher
Splasher is a 2D platformer set in a cartoon‑styled world where a young hero wields a splatter cannon to rescue the Splashers from the greedy Docteur. The game emphasizes fast reflexes, agility and quick decision‑making as players navigate colorful factory environments.
Developed by Splashteam and led by former Ubisoft designer Romain Claude, the title offers single‑player play, full controller support, Steam achievements, cloud saves, leaderboards, remote TV play and Family Sharing on Windows, macOS and Linux.
01 / THE GUIDE
Paint Color Mechanics
The hero’s splatter cannon fires different paint colors, each granting a distinct movement ability such as sticking to walls, bouncing higher, or tricking opponents. These abilities are described as "color superpowers" that directly affect how the player traverses the level.
Because each hue changes the character’s interaction with the environment, players must select the appropriate color for a given obstacle. Switching colors at the right moment can help you avoid hazards and find the best path through each level.
- Test each color in an open area to see its exact effect before entering a tight section.
- Combine wall‑stick and bounce abilities when a level segment requires both vertical and horizontal movement.

Challenging Levels
Levels are built around traps and large factory security devices that demand precise timing. The description encourages players to learn from mistakes in order to discover the best path and improve completion time.
Observing hazard patterns and experimenting with different routes can reveal less obvious paths that reduce risk. The design rewards careful observation rather than relying on a single linear solution.
- Watch the first attempt closely and note where you lose time or die.
- Try alternative routes after a few runs to see if they offer a smoother flow.

Time Attack & Speedrun
A dedicated mode records the player’s fastest completion of each level and posts the result to Steam leaderboards. This creates a global comparison of times without altering the core single‑player campaign.
The mode’s purpose is to encourage players to shave seconds off their runs, offering a clear metric for personal improvement and community competition.
- Set a personal baseline time before attempting leaderboard submissions.
- Review top leaderboard entries to see which sections other players prioritize for speed.

Platform Features
Splasher lists full controller support, Steam Cloud, Steam Leaderboards, Remote Play on TV and Family Sharing. These features are integrated with Steam’s standard services for the supported operating systems.
Family Sharing allows multiple Steam accounts on the same device to access the game, while Remote Play on TV lets the game be streamed to a television.
- Enable Steam Cloud in the client settings to keep saves synchronized across your devices.
- Use Remote Play on TV for a couch‑friendly setup if you prefer a larger screen.

Development Team
The project is led by former Ubisoft designer Romain Claude, with art direction by Richard Vatinel (Gromy) and sound design by Aymeric Schwartz. Their previous work includes titles such as Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends.
The development process involved collaboration with well‑known speedrunners, shaping the game’s focus on precise platforming and competitive timing.
- Notice how the art style highlights paint‑color effects, making each ability visually distinct.
- Listen for rhythmic cues in the soundtrack that align with fast platforming sections.
