About Spirit Island
Spirit Island is a cooperative strategy game set in an alternate‑history world where spirits of nature defend an island from colonial invaders. Players control 1‑4 spirits, each with unique elemental powers, and work with the native Dahan to push back the colonists.
The digital edition includes all eight core spirits, a modular island board, multiple adversaries, scenarios, and a wealth of power, fear, and blight cards. It supports solo, local pass‑and‑play, and cross‑platform online multiplayer, with optional DLC expanding spirits, boards, and mechanics.

Spirits and Power Cards
The base game offers eight distinct spirits, each equipped with four unique power cards that define their elemental abilities. In addition, 36 minor and 22 major power cards can be drawn to enhance or dramatically alter a spirit’s actions during a turn.
These cards interact with the island’s layout and the invading forces, allowing players to tailor strategies for each game. The variety of powers creates over 78,000 possible configurations, ensuring each session feels fresh.

Island Boards and Layouts
The game features a modular island composed of four balanced boards, allowing a variety of map configurations. Thematic boards reflect the canonical island and present new challenges, while 3D textured, 3D classic, and 2D classic visual options cater to different player preferences.
Choosing a board layout influences how the invaders spread and where spirits can act, making board selection a strategic decision before each game.

Adversaries and Scenarios
Three multi‑tier adversaries—Brandenburg‑Prussia, England, and Sweden—provide distinct invading forces with varying difficulty. Four optional scenarios add further variety, altering objectives and conditions for each playthrough.

Multiplayer and Co‑op Options
Spirit Island supports solo play, local pass‑and‑play for up to four players, and cross‑platform online multiplayer via Steam Remote Play Together. Shared/split‑screen co‑op is also available, allowing friends to cooperate on the same device.
Online play connects players worldwide, while family sharing and Steam Cloud preserve progress across sessions.

Expansions and DLC
Several DLC packs extend the core experience. Branch & Claw adds two spirits, an adversary, four scenarios, and new cards plus an Event Deck. Jagged Earth introduces additional spirits, boards, adversaries, scenarios, and many new cards. Horizons of Spirit Island offers five spirits and three boards aimed at newer players.
These expansions increase the pool of spirits, powers, and challenges, further expanding replayability.
